the forums are full of people with sunk cost fallacy who turn into a fanatic cult at any mention of something other than their beloved 15 year time sink
lost ark has valid criticisms like any other game, but the fact people are flocking to it to try it out is just a sign of how bloated the corpse of wow is becoming and 9.2 isnt going to change that
Iâm playing it and loving it. Took about two 7 hour gaming sessions before I got past the urge to want to see straight forward instead of just looking down. Once I got past that and let myself be immersed in the game and admire all the zones, itâs really great. Part of that camera stuff I finally realized is the anticipation of not knowing whatâs just ahead. Never know when a massive pack of mobs is coming up next or some elite boss.
Just some of the mechanics in the solo dungeons leveling up have some incredible mechanics that are very creative and stuff wow just canât do only because they control the camera angle sometimes versus you.
So far Iâm about 25 hours deep with a Plat founders pack and love my skin and moat things about the game so far.
The UIs are really clean and well designed. Everything just feels good. When Iâm playing I feel like a mix between diablo, final fantasy and legend of Zelda link to the past.
This game is 100% RPG before it even considers being an MMO, which it still does well. Friends and I have our own guild and just enjoying new exciting stuff at every turn.
No they are taking a break. WoW is still king and people are just checking other things out before they come crawling back. The only mmo that I see hitting WoW is the riot mmo just because it has a huge budget and ex WoW devs working on it
I dunno about Lost Ark, but I picked up Diablo 2 Resurrected today cause I had a nostalgia itch and read that it had gamepad support and I must say, itâs absolutely ridiculous that Diablo 3 on PC DOESNâT have gamepad support after playing around with it on D2 a bit. Like, WTF Blizzard?
A friend and I bought purchased Lost Ark and intend to check it out later this weekend. Honestly, I bought it before the 9.2 update so I donât expect to play it too much now. But for the cost, I thought was worth checking out. I tend to enjoy Korean designed MMO.
I have WoW and New World. New World doesnât need a sub and I only use that to post on their forums nowadays . Maybe some day it will be worth playing again. After the NW experience , I am not buying another mmo again out the bat. I will stick to old and trusted WoW,
We will see, I worry about their pay model. They have got to get income somewhere. Not everyone will be buying cosmetics, I sure wonât. Hoping for the best, this has genuinely been one of the better MMO releases the US has gotten in awhile.
Normally I would agree with this, but Lost Ark has a huge following and people in the US have been playing on foreign servers since the og release. The hype for this game isnât going anywhere anytime soon.
Subjective, the MMO genre needed something like this in its arsenal.
