I think the trading post is an amazing way to bring back some of this stuff.
I happen to have a few limited-time things that frequently get asked for, but I’ve also got a few things on my list that I never got and would have liked to get.
Paladin gladiator armor from Warlords of Draenor season 1 stands out in my mind. Excellent helm, great shoulders, one of the few “dark” themed paladin sets, and it looks incredible.
If I don’t got to win 10 rated BG matches for the black bear I’d be quite thrilled… but sadly I’ve learned my lesson to not get my hopes up. I just don’t wanna stoop so low as to throw myself into hell again for a fel tainted version just to have the bear with black fur to match my black tauren druid.
Oh, but did they bring back exclusive PvP stuff in the trading post already? Like we are here discussing limited stuff and all, the good old bickering that goes nowhere, but touching PvP exclusives might be too much, for some people that would be like the end of the world lmao.
Hm, apparently you still do need the 10 RBG wins for this challenge tint, at least that’s what wowhead says… And I agree if you think this requirement sucks lol, because it does.
I’m all for bringing them back, as someone who did most of the mage tower challenges back when they were current I can say it was less an expression of being good at the game and more an expression of “can you be bothered to farm Antorus gear on this character and achieve the bare minimum of knowledge to play your chosen spec.”
That being said I’m also biased, I don’t think anything should get hard removed from this game. It never makes me feel special that I did something or have something nobody else can ever get anymore, it makes me sad that nobody can enjoy doing the thing I did anymore.
The only people who make any deal at all about getting limited time things are my siblings, dad, and some friends when we’re just being ridiculous and seeing who is the most try hard wow player. Outside of familiar banter, no one cares… Aside from some people on the forums I guess.

You’re right though, a lot of players were playing the bare minimum and there’s no reward for that 
I don’t mind if it comes back or not, but some of these posts regarding mage tower make very little sense.
Just my observation on the matter.
I don’t think they should bring back the weapons as they were in Legion. They should make entirely new weapons witht he same visual quality and thematic presence as the originals for people to work towards. In fact making a new set of weapons every expansion with new mage tower challenges would be optimal. Kind of like a “mythic +” end of season reward for solo players.
They been adding previously exclusive mounts to the trader’s post, no? Another was a twitch drop or something.
I doubt they add something like the Black Scarab Lord mount, but I could see them revisiting artifact appearance.
You needed to play better than is required to do antorus on normal so, yes bare minimum is fitting.

This was a hot button topic that was already settled. This isn’t something Blizz settled long time ago either, but rather recently. And the verdict was - they’re not coming back.

Blizz changes their mind all the time. Things are only settled if the community accepts defeat for things they want and stops asking like you strangely suggest.

There’s plenty of evidence of Blizzard changing their minds. People shouldn’t be told to stop asking for something they want.

I’ll rather they make a seasonal mage tower with new challenges with new rewards than re-using assets with a recolor and think somehow that’s going to fill the void in FOMO of the legion weapon appearances.
At the end of legion there was a strat for the twins where you kite for first intermission pop surrender to madness near the end of the phase and just outright end the fight with drums and potion by killing the boss before the next phase starts. Legion tower was nerfed by being introduced in nighthold and getting outgeared by over 100 ilvls.
Similar strats existed for many other specs, being able to destroy the boss before mechanics happened really did mean you could get by with lfr gear and a vague understanding of the class your playing.

But you guys are missing the point that many players yelled at how difficult it was thus getting MT nerfed into the ground.
Just because people found out how to cheese it 6 months later isn’t exactly the point.
The content got nerfed for a reason, so saying “it required bare minimum” isn’t the right way to define it.
Bare minimum was not enough, hence the outcry on the forums and the nerf following after.

There’s a lot of things that can be done to the “time limited” stuff in general, For example, the mage tower appearances, The players who gets them now would have a different color or same color but the players who got them in legion would have an unique glow so you can distinguish them.
As we are now, those models are lost forever if you didn’t get them in legion and had time to level, gear and learn 12 classes to do the challenge 36 times…
I have only ONE model, Affliction warlock, I would LOVE for a chance to get all that was time limited, I don’t care if it is a recolor.
I have the title “of the black harvest” because I had time in pandaria to get it with the green fire, I’m not in favour of the title beign tied to the FoS tho, I have the FoS to show off I did get it in pandaria, let the people have the rewards.
Wow is full of players that love collecting stuff and just negating the chance of getting them is frustrating, we have work, lives, a lot have kids, real life commitments, even other games, etc
Blizz please, Keep the time limited stuff, sure, but let other people get a recolor or altered version of them when the “time limit” ends
Counter point: Blizzard should have released challenge modes with unique cosmetics every expansion and not slacked off after Legion’s Mage Tower (5 Masks in BFA and random handful of stuff in Torghast does not a challenge mode make).
