… pronouns. The subject of the thread.
please. permaban. this. guy.
Thank you for being one of the most reasonable people in these forums.
People aren’t flip flopping because it doesn’t need to be one way or the other.
This is a RPG. People can make up what they want for each character.
Maybe one character uses your pronouns and is a self-insert character while another one is vastly different from what you are IRL.
People are allowed to do both at the same time if they have multiple characters.
Fair enough.
Not trying to, but does it matter? Sure I could have worded that differently, but the points still the same.
I’m just saying, I’ve noticed that pronouns are something that more people are using in their introductions and maybe it could benefit WoW. The game adapting could lead to this eventually.
Are you some kind of shill that gets paid to make these threads?
It’s called spam. Add up all the threads that person has made, and it is definitely spam.
Subtract all these threads and it would be clear there is very little real discussion going on in the forums. So maybe he’s an employee posting on free Blizzard-generated accounts to make it appear the forums are not as dead as the game?
Or perhaps it is a disinformation campaign to distract players from asking hard questions about game development.
I’ve always used pronouns in my introductions. The whole idea of swapping pronouns when you change characters is kind of new to me. Seems like it would be silly to get offended when someone uses the wrong pronouns if your pronouns are just going to change all the time. I can’t keep up with this anymore
it is hard to keep up
This… makes more sense than I want to believe. It would explain how these threads mange to escape moderation, and how the OP and their alt army never get banned.
I’m a bit the same.
If I know someone, and know their preference, I will use the pronouns they prefer - or rather, I will honestly try to remember. I’m not perfect.
but some rando on the forum or street who I don’t know, don’t remember, and have 0 investment or reason to invest anything in to? they’re getting the pronoun that matches the character.
so some forum rando told me once a month ago in some conversation I don’t remember in some thread I don’t remember what their preference was? if I don’t remember that, too bad, not sad.
but we have people who get fired UP over it. it’s ridiculous.
It wasn’t a great example, but ‘many people say it, so it must be true’ is textbook appeal to the people fallacy.
They should add bio feature in WOW so you can put your pronoun there.
That’s true. Though i think it’s important we know there’s a different between what OP here does, and what everybody else does… OP obsesses over it and wants to weaponize pronouns or try to force people to think like he does.
Ban the posts and user, and explain to the LGBT (or other progressives that might wonder why) that these posts were inviting harassment to the LGBT people, and focus on actual progressivsm for the LGBT. Like linking charities. Speaking of.
Time to do actual good in Tulln’s thread because he never does it himself…
I’ve never run into anyone in the game who wasn’t satisfied with being addressed as “you”. I’ve never run into anyone who wanted to be referred to as anything other than the apparent gender of the character model they have chosen, outside of voice chat maybe. I would if I were asked to, but nobody has ever asked. I’m female, but if somebody in game refers to me as “him”, I say nothing, because it doesn’t matter.
It seems to me that barring the many threads started by one person, it’s a very small issue.
Ehhhhhhhh…
I think the better wording here imo, (despite the fact i do agree with what you said) should be… “Just because it’s popular, doesn’t mean it’s good by that virtue alone”.
And you have my condolences for having to deal with T-Squad’s lapdog. Let’s pray their pet cat doesn’t come in the thread too.
Im sorry they were mean to you. Are you okay?
