I’d like to blame this behavior on the USA, but unfortunately, it has also spread to Europe, albeit on a smaller scale. The Olympics in France right now should definitely not be taken as a shining example of Europe…
You can see it in this thread too, how people are tearing each other apart over something so trivial. I mean, to a certain extent it’s entertaining, I have to admit, but fundamentally, it’s just sad.

I dont know…it feels more like a fad that’ll die out at some point once everyone is bored with it and moves on to the next thing.
It doesnt affect me as long as no one TRIES to MAKE it affect me, so Im good.
The concern I have, would be someone going out of their way to make it all affect my life directly. Thats not gonna end well. So I just try to keep the peace and get along with everyone whos getting along with me.

Glad to see this restored! So silly people can’t just have a proper conversation without flagging to hopefully remove things. Like I said, if Blizz could insert TRP3 that’d be lovely.

This is my concern, both in this game and IRL. It’s not a stretch to think this could lead to Blizzard banning accounts for not adhering to preferred pronouns. Nor is it a stretch for employers to do the same. The latter is already happening, not sure how many, but several have made the news cycle.
Putting so much focus on how someone feels, rather than adding that focus to making enjoyable content, is going to hurt this game’s performance even more than it already is.

It’s an RP addon. You can insert pronouns for your character, character backstory, change how your name appears in Trade Chat, Party Chat, Guild Chat, etc. And, it’s completely optional to fill it out, too.

Prob a stint because of blizzards whole scandal during shadowlands. Its not like where where ever misgendered before. We where always just “champion” “race” “class” no matter what u played. U could always rp ur character the way u want. Besides male or female body types which is already changed to body type 1 body type 2.
No ones going to forget or forgive them for what they did to past employees and trying to appear more progressive aint going to fly with how they represent factions based on real cultures.
Theyll do this and still have the amani trolls painted as savages
And they erase women artwork in game. How progressive of them.

Now, don’t kid yourself. Most people just ignore what Blizzard has done. It was simply easy to criticize them back then because BFA and Shadowlands can’t really be described as more than mediocre. If these expansions had all been great, people would have quickly brushed the circumstances under the rug, just like many WoW players are doing now.
The idea that Blizzard suddenly became tolerant overnight just because they threw in a few diverse NPCs and waved a rainbow flag outwardly, (while ironically keeping the firmly established racial segregation between the Alliance and the Horde xD), is something hardly anyone would buy.
