Blizzard took the simple route of using neutral terms for a long time before masculine/feminine pronouns were even a point of people pulling their hair out and getting angry over so there’s no real argument.
Though I guess we should probably tell them not to go to FFXIV because they would dare call the main character he/she in text and voice over lines based upon the character’s chosen body type with no separate dialogue gender-select.
As far as I know, quests have always been coded to refer to the player as, either he/she or him/her, or directly by name, since Vanilla.
Or simply “champion/hero” which is lazy, but that’s basically “our” pronoun as the player lol.
No, I don’t think they’ll ever do actual preferred pronouns like in other games.
WoW simply isn’t built for it- the base game and a lot of spaghetti-code is just from 2004 and earlier.
Yes, I know they’ve redone a lot of it, but WoW is still fairly limited in what it can and cannot handle. Player housing still doesn’t exist, for example.
Pronouns might be easier than other features to implement, I just don’t think it’s high on the to-do list. Even if they can do it, somehow.
It’s Blizzard. The body-type thing might be all they’re willing to do on this subject, and call it a day.
He has actually worked to pass laws preventing language from being used, pushed for anti woke programs that cause for removal of books from schools and libraries, so a lot closer to this 1984 world you claim others of an opposing view point to you do.
Though I imagine if you already agree with Desantis brand of extremism it’s harder to see. He can hang out with Huckabee who tried banning pronouns in her state.
Goal posts seem to grow legs often in these forums.
Regardless, what human rights are the opposition taking away?
