[Prompt] Overburden

Everything around you is on fire. Not literally, but figuratively. There are so many things that need doing, it would take multiples of you to get everything done in any sort of manner. How do you prioritize? Is this a common occurrence for you or once in a blue moon? Or are you always on top of everything so these events never happen? Or perhaps your servants/associates handle all this riff raffery on your behalf.

Info

This is meant to be a fun exercise, so there aren’t many rules.

Prompts are fun little things meant to inspire. You don’t have to perfectly match the prompt. Just let it inspire a thought.

I’m going to try and post these weekly, sometime between Saturday and Monday probably. Feedback and prompt ideas are welcome, so feel free to post them in the archive thread. Some prompts will be more thought provoking, some more whimsical. Respect your fellow writers.

Disclaimer: I cannot take full credit for every prompt. Some of these I create on my own, some are prompts I’ve seen that I’ve taken a WoW spin to, and some I’ve seen and used in the past, some are ideas spoken in passing between me and coworkers, or guildmates, or some are offered directly from folks on the forums. If I’ve been directly given a prompt from another person, I will credit them unless they do not want to. Otherwise, know some of these are gained through many means.

I think my warlock would just ignore it and pass it on to her demons. Worthless imps and bulky felguards can do most labor intensive jobs plus, void walker can run backup on any job. The blue berry is swole, pure line backer in defense.

You just described my actual life at the moment and I still have no idea how to handle that.

Imbrei didn’t look up when she heard someone coming up behind her. Her wolves looked up only for a moment, then went back to the bones they had. She knew who it was. He was the only one who knew her hiding place in Grizzly Hills.

“One of the Earthen Ring said you had a bad trip.” Thrudd said softly, sitting next to her. “You okay?” The Blood elf shook her head, burying it in her arms.

“I can’t anymore.” She whispered softly. “It’s too much, I just CAN’T. Seeing these visions over and over again. We fail. We fail and you’re dead, and I’m all alone again, and I just…” She burst into sobbing, the large Orc coxing her onto his lap.

“We’ll stay here for a bit. Let you relax.” He muttered softly, stroking her hair. “Maybe we’ll go see your Da…”

“No!” She panicked, looking up. “Everytime I take time to see Dad, things go to hell. Theramore, Darnassas, I can’t risk…”

“The actions of our ill-chosen leaders are not your fault.” Her mate kissed her head. “It was all just terrible, terrible coincidence. Everything will be fine.” He pulled her closer, pressing her face to his solid chest. “Everything will be fine.”

If only he didn’t sound like he needed convinced too.
