[Prompt] Doggy

As you wander through your travels, you hear what sounds like an animal cry out in pain. A wolf or canine of some kind based on the sound. You set off towards the sound. Just as you think you’ve lost the trail and you are better off returning to your wandering, you begin to hear a whimper in the distance. Low, pathetic whimpering, hard to hear. Should you choose to continue and follow it, you’ll find one of the dogs that frequent Boralus and Kul’Tiras with its paw stuck in a trap of sorts. Do you free it and tend to it, eventually making it your companion? Do you leave it, as it is not a trained canine or large enough to be more than an idle companion?

Info

This is meant to be a fun exercise, so there aren’t many rules.

Prompts are fun little things meant to inspire. You don’t have to perfectly match the prompt. Just let it inspire a thought.

I’m going to try and post these weekly, sometime between Saturday and Monday probably. Feedback and prompt ideas are welcome, so feel free to post them in the archive thread. Some prompts will be more thought provoking, some more whimsical. Respect your fellow writers.

Disclaimer: I cannot take full credit for every prompt. Some of these I create on my own, some are prompts I’ve seen that I’ve taken a WoW spin to, and some I’ve seen and used in the past, some are ideas spoken in passing between me and coworkers, or guildmates, or some are offered directly from folks on the forums. If I’ve been directly given a prompt from another person, I will credit them unless they do not want to. Otherwise, know some of these are gained through many means.

id command my demon to disarm/break the trap since im not stronk.
im a hordie, so i dont know how the dog will react to me. With hesitation id examin the paw and see if i can bandage it with what little cloth i have.
Push come to shove… id command the void walker to be a body gaurd while i pick up the doggo and carry it back to a near by town.

probably have to bind its mouth shut so it dosnt bite me out of fear. Once i get to the town id pay a few people off to take care of it. Ofcorse im not loaded but i make sizeable amount betting ( and rigging ) pit fights in the brawlers guild.

“Imbrei, NO!” Thrudd frowned as the elf made a pouty face to him. “You have too many animals as it is!” The huntress stuck out her tongue.

“One, there is NO such thing as too many animals. Two, Gar will need to be retired soon. And three, she needs out help. Look at her! All alone and injured!” She counted her fingers as she listed off the reasons. “I at least need to heal her!”

The Orc looked to the wolf who gave a low combination of a pained whine and a growl. She had at least the last two points, and to be fair most of her older pets were leased out to beginner hunters to learn how to use them.

“Fine.” He consided, shoulders slumping. The Elf beamed, kissing his cheek? Before going to the animals to tame it before she released it from the trap.
