This is why when the dev in charge of professions said that they are not changing in TWW that much I knew then and there it was intentional to lock out the majority of active players and it was a deceptive way to normalize RMT and botting practices in WoW professions systems without officially condoning it.
It’s great for players who enjoy complicated and convoluted systems. It probably isn’t so bad once you get used to it. I’m not used to it yet and find it super annoying.
The problem with designing a profession system that benefits botters is now you have it infesting the auction house because the supply and demand is out of proportion with what a normal player can do even if they are a mult boxer.
I cannot justify spending so much gold on materials that will be worth much less than half of what they are now in three months, especially on starter items that players already do not even want.
I’m sure it’s great to get ahead early in the current professions, but for me, I’m just starting the DF professions while the materials are dirt cheap…
Meaningful didn’t have to mean overly complicated, timegated and far more annoying than any previous system.
Mats don’t have to have quality levels.
Crafts don’t have to have quality levels.
Crafting orders don’t have to be so complicated.
Knowledge doesn’t have to be so timegated.
Daddy Blizz didn’t have to hate enchanting more than all the other professions.
Standard Blizzard monkey paw response.
I like it on a first character, but Im not bothering a second.
They just took it too far for alts to mess with it as far as Im concerned.
I guess if I played 17 hours day I might think differently, but I dont
Blizz changed crafting to increase token sales, so don’t hole your breath for ever going back to the old system so many of us loved. Before DF I had maxed out every crafting specialization in every expac. In DF I tried, but eventually just gave up. For TWW I’m running a couple tailoring alts just to make cloth, and nothing else. The rest are just gathering, and selling everything on the AH. No more crafting for me.
Engineering and mining is all I take at this point…and Eng is strictly for the wormholes and other gadgets.
I do like how they did Eng this time, minus the long winded specializations that I’ll never bother with on a single alt.
They made it more interesting, but took it too far for my liking.
At least make it account wide…so if I get so far on my main with Eng…my alts can start be at that point if I take Eng on them.
I’m not a fan of the new systems waste of mats.
On my alchemist it has wild experimentation. its just a button to press to waste mats most of the time. like 1 in 10 times will it actually work. most of the time it just explodes and waste my mats.
I’m just tired of not getting anything from wild experimentation. Says I can still learn stuff, but every single time I’ve done it in the past week has knocked me on my backside.
I like to hover above it on my monk with Zen Flight like the druids used to be able to do in flight form. Then when done i zoom up and then change into skyriding mount to look for more!
I gave it the old college try with tailoring and several others, but it’s too cumbersome, expensive and time-consuming for little enjoyment when I’ve made millions already just farming ores, herbs and skins while leveling.
I don’t enjoy the newer profession system outside of gathering on any level.
