I can appreciate the obvious love and work that went into them, but professions are way, way too complicated right now with the skill trees and such.
I’m sitting at like 50 tailoring and nothing boosts my skill any further so I cannot learn anything new.
Next expansion please go back to the way it was before Dragonflight. Or at least give us away to reset our talent points for those of us who went in totally blind and made mistakes.

I don’t think they are too hard to understand. A 1 time reset wouldn’t be terrible though. Make it cost something like a spark so its expensive and not just something you can do willy illy.

Reputation grinding will provide.
You’ll be OK my friend.

That’s a pretty good idea. Make it expensive but available.
A spark is a good trade, I agree.

If it’s a one time reset then it shouldn’t cost anything.

I don’t think it is too complicated, but like a lot of in game stuff they could have done a better job at explaining some aspects of the new system as well as how to progress through it. And a reset is needed. Locked in choices just feel bad while providing no value or benefit.

Keep farming. You will get more points towards your proffesion. Just be patient.
Proffesions are in one of best states they have ever been in a long time. I feel blizz did an amazing job with them.

This smelly human speaks the truth.
My tailoring stopped leveling too and I haven’t went back to trying it. I got annoyed more than intrigued so it can sit and rot. As I watch folks spam in trade chat for this and that etc etc I want no part of it.

Not too complicated but but more complex than the previous system.
What I’ve noticed is that professions have become time gated along with everything else in this game.
Before one could grind out max mining or herb gathering in a day and the only thing stopping you was the fact that the zones you needed to farm in had mobs to high lvl for u to be in.Now weekly prof quest or patterns locked behind a rep grind and I’ve noticed i didn’t get any mining points till after reset, which cld be coincidence

I really like the specialization aspect where you pick what you want to focus on.
I HATE games with material quality so then adding it sucks, but we are stuck with it.

The biggest problem is that the systems are not explained well enough in game.
The skill level is important, but it’s not the most important thing anymore. You need to get profession equipment and knowledge points.
You gain knowledge points by crafting things for the first time, doing some weekly quests, and Renown related activities. Allocating those points and gaining Renown opens up more recipes to increase your skill level - but the whole system is designed to be something you work toward over time.
I guess you can technically call it timegating, but it’s still mostly open ended and a lot of it can be brute forced if you have Gold to buy materials. It’s meant to be another form of long term endgame progression.
I am really enjoying it. I’ve spent a big chunk of my recent play time working on professions instead of other world activities. I still don’t understand all of it, but that’s okay. I’m not in a hurry.
Definitely +1 on adding some kind of respec ability, even if it’s expensive.

During the Burning Crusade, professions took a long time to level too, just saying.
The baseline materials having 3 ranks is what was overboard. Reagents like azureweave cloth that are created by players is one example where crafting materials having a rank makes a ton of sense.
The rest of the system is interesting and far more enjoyable than the old system. Not even close.

Yeah they took time to level but so did leveling in general.I remember doing BS while lvln and actually being able to wear items i made while questing. Now by the time professions are lvl’d items become irrelevant, AKA vender trash

i cant tell if this is sarcasm or not But yes to the OP its not that its too complicated but i already have better heroic gear then i can make so running through all the hoops to craft gear that wil always be worse then what the game provides is pointless. At crafting level 50 i can provide my toons with good starter gear and then run heroics till i get better gear then run LFR and get better gear. I can do all that long before I can ever craft gear that would equal (if it even can) LFR or Heroic gear. So why bother with crafting

This is my first time playing wow and i maxed it out no problem. Must have been really easy before if this is considered difficult.

I haven’t bothered with any DF professions but when I read up on the systems, it looks like too much hassle to do them if you are not interested in making gold from them.
By the time I get around to bothering with them (probably years from now), maybe they will be changed.
