Profanity in other Languages

This will sound like an odd question, but after watching a YouTube video on games who had to change words in other countries cause they were offensive.

If a player uses a word that in their country is not abusive, but in foreign country that same word is considered a racists term. Can a player who heard it from that country report you?

On the other hand, if a player wanted to get around the report system used words that are offensive, but are not abusive by American language standards can that player be reported?

An example is you called someone a spaz in America you just saying that they act crazy. However, if you’re in Britain a used the word spaz it is same as calling them handicapped.

Or, using British slander as a substitute for a American word that has same meaning.

sadly yes
but the Darkmoon Ticket Fanny Pack slag and clefts
will not be changed
and what i am find funny is the australian c word is bad but i can tell the differance from the good way and bad way.

I’m sorry, are people really so desperate to be rude in-game that they’ll go out of their way to use idioms/slang from other languages to bypass the filter?

I immediately thought of this reading the OP.

no we are point out the hypocrisy of the languages
not to by pass
like my 3 words i posted its in the game but over seas they mean different

It isn’t surprising that people don’t get along. Yes, some people will try to skirt the boundaries. I will be here waiting, with a tall glass of ice tea when the inevitable tears flow.

I know players will use Spanish or Portuguese to get pass filters, or be able to use offensive words in chat.

Poeple have the idea that they have freedom of speech and don’t like when told they need to censor themselves.

I think that it’s more about the feelings behind the word than the word used itself. I could call someone I hate a nankaloup and frown at them, and it could still be mean even though the word is meaningless.

Oh, that’s right. It’s Sunday.

Getting ahead of this:

From one of the blues themselves. Profanity is still profanity. Just don’t do it.

It’s same idea how twins can develop their own language that means nother to anyone who not within their circle.

My goal this week… use "nankaloup IRL.

Bonus points if I can make it become a thing.

The way slang evolves, eventually every word in english will be considered “offensive” in one way or another. Might as well get a discord account now.

I was think of that as a good example.

Start using old 40s slang.

OP out here just giving people bad ideas :stuck_out_tongue:

Dude, that word is still like peak swearing here in Australia. A lot of us just swear a lot. Even so you choose your words based on the situation. I don’t swear much when I’m at work, because it’s not an appropriate situation. There’s a code of conduct in a workplace. But with friends and most of my family (I wouldn’t say that word around my mum or aunties) all bets are off.

Oh, and for the OP. Different languages are not a work around. It’s covered in the code of conduct.

while i’ve never played counterstrike, through memes i was made aware of what “c-ka bl-at” means.

I think it would matter the “area” of the server. Like if you talk about smoking a f word for ciggarette but you’re on a American server? Probably gonna get reported. But if you’re in the EU? maybe not.
