Profanity in 9.2.5

“Obscene language” means swear words.

For what? You haven’t used any obscene language.

Yeah, sorry it isn’t fully inclusive.

May as well start the false reporting right now, because it will being going strong next week or what not.

A good rule of thumb is if it doesn’t make into a radio edit of a song it probably won’t pass muster in WoW chat.

ahh! The horror! A fully grown adult said a cuss word in my video game!

Dire Straights Money for Nothing came on the radio the other day. It was missing the famous lyrics. It saddened me a tad knowing that anything risque is chopped out of the equation. This was on the home of real rock too “their claim to fame” lol.

Some radio edits confuse me but whatever.

  1. It can be used as an insult in Australia.
  2. In the U.S. it is explicitly intended as derogatory and insulting, primarily toward women. Taking it as derogatory and insulting is thus taking it as it is intended. Taking something as it is intended is not oversensitivity, it is taking it as it is intended.
  3. It’s spelled “heresy” and it’s not quite the word you want.

Swear words are obscenities by definition.

This stuff isn’t hard. I swear profusely when the situation allows. Public channels in a game that explicitly disallows obscenities and vulgarities isn’t one of those.

Especially since the only way you even see it is if you deliberately turn OFF the language filter (which is turned on by default).

Make sure you read the contract because you don’t want your mouth to be sewed to someone else buttock and have someone else mouth sewed onto your buttock!

Yea, it isn’t bad at all but when you listen to Eminem on the radio it sucks. Sometimes being “explicit” is the song itself.

I hate hearing slims songs on the radio. It sounds awful without the explicit words

The rest of the response explains that what you said doesn’t hold up. Did you read that? Were there too many words?

Neither do I, but I don’t feel the need to type one out.

I save my swearing for actual conversation. I don’t waste my time typing them.

You mean those overly sensitive people who constantly post threads about key leavers?
