They don’t like the sweet words here.
And I’d like to say that as an Australian I find it HUGELY OFFENSIVE that I can’t say all the words me and many of my countryman use on the daily. It’s our language and you yanks are always so sensitive with words but you let kids buy assault rifles lol.

It’s my perception that the NSC is not much different than the ToS. Folks have focused on the word ‘obscene’ but the CoC also says “You may not use language that could be offensive or vulgar to others”. You may perceive that cuss words are not included in this verbiage but others can disagree and report you. It my perception that what you believe should be acceptable doesn’t matter since the CoC specifically says any alleged violation is decided by others, not you.

Not allowing someone to do something they do on the daily is cultural appropriation is it not?
A legal loophole if I’ve ever seen one.

It’s got that f word in it but it basically means a mega hell yes! The Ken is the last part of the F word so it -Ken oath mate

Just for the fun of it I just looked up some characters whose names are cuss words. (Guess what they do exist!)

Here’s a list of things that are toxic in WoW that actually degrade the gaming experience:
You can afk in PvP matches
You can leave PvP matches
You can leave Mythic + dungeons
You can leave raids when the going gets tough
You can refuse players who are adequate enough for the content you intend to run an invite to your group
You can kick people from raids for making a single mistake
You can camp people who are in warmode just for the extra PvP rewards who have no desire to PvP
You can play the auction house and raise the prices on items just to turn a profit for yourself
You can be harsh towards another player in the game
…and, you can swear
Of all of those things that destroy our gaming experience, I think swearing is the least destructive towards our gaming experience.
I think saying a few harsh things towards someone who does those things should be a bit more acceptable(!?), but that’s just my opinion. If those things written above aren’t addressed, then WoW will continue to be of a lower quality than it could be. I don’t think the devs realize how much revenue the game loses due to those things.

Honestly, it depends on which word you use and in which context.
If you say the f word or the s word in a dungeon when you pull extra mobs, I doubt anyone will care.
If you’re using them to insult people or dropping slurs, I wouldn’t recommend it.
only if it’s in different languages…
I don’t understand how that is such an awful word in any context. Being serious. It’s a word.

Sadly it’s the sign of our times, I was raised sticks and stones can break my bones but words can’t.
I guess I was also raised with a stern hand to keep my in line and ultimately realised that words are words and physical actions hurt a lot more. But these kids won’t know that lesson so I guess we just tip toe now

I mean, I don’t like yelling. Growing up with someone who constantly yells and beats you down mentally is awful.
I guess for me, one day I was like, why am I letting empty words bother me? And, they don’t anymore.
I don’t want to upset someone if they do not like that word. Well, unless you’ve been awful to me.
We all have our own kind. I wanna be myself in regards to how I talk and I can’t be around ppl who are so emotionally fragile that, that might be a trigger for them.

You’re right and I’m learning that more as I grow to not go out of my way to hurt someone. Swearing was just always a part of life for me and only recently have I been, how would you say, clamped down upon maybe?
But the last time I actually got a proper week ban the swear words were not even directed at anyone rather internally I called myself a sick c-bomb legend (another Aussie term of endearment) after doing some bg flag save moves then 7 days of no wow for me lol.

Fake-nice. Bleh.
Not I said the cat.
I’m nice or a Bish. Depends on what’s going on.
Seriously. The game is rated T and there is every option available for you NOT to see profanity. And people are crying “Oh, think of the kids!” Kids aren’t supposed to be playing this game, especially if the parents are too inept to moderate the chat. This is coming from someone who literally had their own WoW account at the age of 7

my advice is turn off all chat except guild chat even whispers its not worth losing your account over ban happy people thats licking their chops to report you for anything when 9.2.5 launches.
dungeons are safe to no one talks in those…lol.
Try reading what you agreed to when you signed onto play the game.
