My reason for wanting to boost a toon is simple. I have played this game for 15 years and find the Vanilla era mind numbing to level in. There arw people that feel the same and only coming back due to the boost. The boosts are not a change to the spirit of the game but a business decision to bring people back. Very few subs will be lost, while many more will be gained. It is an option, don’t like it, don’t use it.
using variety of abilities while levelling? i sleep
spamming one ability in a raid? real… poop
My worry (with the boost) is how it’ll affect Wrath Servers and the DK requirements. Along with, I just don’t want the Boost, personally (but, that’s besides the point). I hope they make it to where wanting a DK means a boosted character doesn’t count, but we’ll see
Wrong expansion piper
Doesn’t matter. We know we’re going to get Wrath Servers, just like we knew we were getting BC Servers. So, my point is still valid about the DKs.
Piper, by time Wrath comes out most people will have a 70.
IK, but I’m saying since the Boost surpassed the 55 requirement by 3 levels and having at least a 55 was required to make a DK, that’s essentially purchasing for a DK. You catch my drift?
Piper- if boosts make money now, there will be boosts then. Wotlk boost will be 68,
You have to be trolling at this point.
IK this, that’s not my argument. Paying for a boost when back in Wrath, a DK required having a character at level 55, so even using a 68, that’s essentially purchasing for a DK. You still haven’t disproven this fact, thus my point is still valid.
EDIT: So, I’m hoping boosted characters won’t count towards validating someone access to the DKs.
Piper- I understand your concern and find it valid. My point about boosts is there are people who do not want to play levels below TBC,
IK that and understand there are players out there that don’t like the 1 - 58 content. I really do. But, to pretend it doesn’t have an affect is just silly. It’s not a doom and gloom affect, however. I (personally because I don’t speak for everyone) don’t want the boost because I feel like leveling is important for an MMORPG, though IK full and well, I’m in the minority pool, on that one. And, that’s OK. Doesn’t mean anybody who is either for or against it, their reasons aren’t valid. I do objectively see the problem behind the paid boost and am hoping my solution to be a good compromise between both pro and anti boosters.
Not boosting DKs (to, say 68) when classic WotLK comes out makes sense since they don’t allow a boost for the Draenei or Blood Elves in classic TBC. DKs are already ‘boosted’ to 55.
IK this, this isn’t my argument. My argument is that players are buying 58 Boosts in Classic BC which surpasses the 55 requirement for the DK, in Wrath. And (to me), that’s buying a DK, in Wrath. I’m not worried about the DKs being boosted to 68 or not (but, I do see your point about that.)
Piper- what you have to realize is this is not TBC, it is TBC Classic.
IK this. Again, not my argument. You’re just regurgitating the same talking points to arguments I’m not even making ![]()
Piper- yes the boosts effect the Wotlk DK level requirement. But the Dark Portal requirement is 58 so that takes priority. People coming back do not want to level to go through it
I understand your point, I really do. Thank you for self admitting that you’re more important than the DK requirement. That helps me know where your priorities lies, at least. Which, at the very least I can compromise and have all of these things be avail, to you, but I will say that any boosted character should NOT count towards accessibilities to DKs. Can we agree on that? Or, are you wanting your cake and eating it, too? Come on, now, don’t be shy. Tell us what you really want ![]()
EDIT: You can still have your Boosts, but it won’t count towards accessibilities to the DK Class. Unless, you’re telling me, that’s what you want…
Boosted characters have to count towards DK. My argument is people coming back do not want to level below the Hellfire Peninsula. Thus they will mot have the leveled toon.
Disagree with that.
And, if you don’t want to level in lower level content, that is just fine. But, in order to unlock certain goodies, you should. However, at some point, Blizz did uplift that rule of needing a 55 character to make a DK, so it all depends on what they want to do. All of this can be moot, since the DK Class is Wrath content.
