Not unpopular at all, this idea is put forth once an hour for about 5-6 years now.
Want an unpopular idea? Just stop doing M+ if you hate it. SL 5 mans are terrible and I don’t enjoy them so I don’t M+ this expansion. Easy.

That’s worse than now lol.
You get 2 drops both in or not in time.
huh? that’s not true at all
Technically they are “optional” as it is. I mean, you only need to “complete” a +15 to get a max level reward from the vault. Doesn’t take long to get all the m+ gear, and get to a point where there’s literally no reward for running a key outside of just filling your great vault, or going for IO.
Problem is peoples mentality is if it’s not being timed, they are leaving. Some people are so mental about it that they will leave on the last boss if it’s not being timed, rather than just finish it and get 1 of their 8 keys for their vault done, out of pure rage.
I don’t know what you would expect them to do, I would prefer a timer rather than waiting on CDs or lust every single pull of a dungeon in order to finish high keys, cause that’s exactly what people would be doing. There needs to be a pace forced upon the group to keep it moving forward.
I do think they could go a bit more lenient on dungeon timers and not have them be the main focus for sure though. Possibly even design smaller dungeons that are only like 20-25 mins long on average, so your time doesn’t feel as wasted when some crybaby wants to leave a key that you have already spent an hour (including building the group) worth of of your time to get nothing out of it
People already have 8/8, loot is irrelevant.
Oh ok, thanks for clearing up that every single person that leaves a key has all 8 of their keys done for the week. We would be lost without your vast knowledge
either have 8 done or plan to do 8 later.
I do think that the community around M+ would be a lot better if the timer got flipped to instead be a leader board thing, and obviously keep the higher M+ rating the faster you do it, but completing a key should be completing a key, some of the excuses like just waiting for Hero/Lust every pack to push a key is something VERY few people will do, and if they want to take literally 3-4 hours to do a single key, why not? I’m pretty sure there were already pictures and stories of people taking 10+ hours to do a key, so if the timer is already optional, why not just get rid of it to help ease some of the toxicity involved in it and just let it be more fun.
Oh so if you plan to finish your 8 later, than leaving on the last boss makes sense to you. Good to know I don’t have to take anything you ever say seriously
The timer doesn’t make you bad.
The ruler doesn’t make you short.
The scale doesn’t make you fat.
The timer is nothing. It’s inconsequential. Just get an add on that blocks it and never consider it again.
yes, it can.
When I used to run them back in BfA with my guild at the time, we were a very social group and not very powerful players so we often didnt make the timers. We looked upon the clock as an option feature in effect; if we made it, nice, if not we might make it next time.
I recognise not everyone thinks that way and that anything that gives a higher reward will be the ultimate goal and anything else is going to be seen as a fail. Sort of depends on who you play with and what you want out of a part of the game.
Man, reading this thread more and more just makes me not even want to wait for +20s.
I’m buying a 15 now just to spite the elitists. Screw it.
Nah just make it scale every 5 levels up to +20. The people who dislike timers can’t do a 20 anyway.
I think I bought 5x m+15s this expansion.
Maybe 10x m+2s.
no. stop. pls
Or just better yourself? Do enough 10’s they feel like 5’s, enough 15’s then they feel like 10’s etc…
Even with minimal game time you can get KSM, if someone calling you out online in a party chat offends you just put them on ignore and move on.
It was weird just afk’ing at the beginning while a 4-man group ran through everything. But it was worth it.
Definitely buying more no doubt get the 10+s done on tyr week and +20s on tyr week ![]()
So in a fantasy reality? PuGs have always been awful.
They don’t and never have “catered to” either group. They’ve gently pushed people to play multiplayer content by encouraging multiplayer content. You wanna rp in SW, be my guest, but that isn’t worth logging in for.
You are the walking definition of an elitist but ok
