Probably time to roll back the class changes, Rets and ferals way too high on expected DPS

Rets are fine. Idk what your gripe with them are, they aren’t even the number one projected dps…

Honestly, almost everything is looking pretty balanced in ICC. The sole changes I’d make is take Ferals down a bit, and give that bit to Rogues. It’s a little weird being the only pure-melee dps class, and being so mid-low tier (since we literally can’t do any other role).

Other than that, things look pretty solid imo.

Mhhmm, you make a valid point. Maybe the ability to combine poisons? Deadly + Instant on one hand and crippling/wound on the other hand? Two charges on power throw?

Yeah cause sims are the end all be all.

dude!, You know Sims are our god, we found that out during the Ulduar raid, there can be no questioning its absolute ability to be correct 100% of the time.

Well, 100% agree sims are whatever. Sometimes they are a little more accurate, sometimes they turn out to be pretty wrong.

That said, I’ve been following a couple different experienced Guilds on the PTR, and it’s pretty clear they are only bringing one Combat Rogue for the Phys Damage Debuff and so they can Expose for their warriors.

Again, it’s whatever. I think Rogue will be alright, but as the only pure, melee dps class, it’s a little sad we don’t have at least one spec that’s top notch.

why is the difference between wowsims.github and projected icc sheet 1400-1500 dps? its interesting that none of these #'s were brought up until ICC was about to release.

Sounds like your settings might be bugged or you’re missing some major buff.

Ran the non-OP spec through 3k iterations linked from the sheet (ie, the settings the sheet use) and it comes out as:

16495.35 DPS (+/- 478) which is 5 dps off the projected number.

in wowsims.github?

Yup, the link it on the side of the projections so you can check the options used for it although they’re a little jambled.

Check the link next to the class in the last column and it should work out fine.

I’d suggest to undo the TaJ hotfix that made rogue poisons trigger it, but that would also likely buff it for rets that have vindication.

I’m kind of hoping that rogue real world performance is a bit higher than their sims suggest.

true true, but I’m gonna be honest, if a warrior cannot keep sunder up… then he/she is doing something wrong. What areas do you think rogues should be buffed in? Reduce the energy req of mutilate by 10? enhanced poison? give sinister strike a 5% increase in crit chance by default?

I wouldn’t say I’m a great theorycrafter, but considering Blizzard never likes to mess with with PvP, I’d propose something along these lines:

  1. Change the T10 2-Piece to not only make Tricks of the Trade grant 15-energy, but also to increase your damage by 15%.

Or,

  1. Up the value of the T10 4-Set. Right now we are one of the few classes who doesn’t even use our T10 4-Set (because it’s so bad). So they could either tweak that or change it.

The Tricks change in particular would be kind of nice as it really encourages us to use our utility, whether that be for Tank threat or for higher Raid DPS.

they were

but now that we have TAJ tested we know for sure how bad the balance is now
and how out of wack these arbitrary buffs to already used, high-utility classes truly are

When Aggrend said warriors would be 252 kings, he clearly didnt have any math to back that up

When Kris Zierhut thought we shouldnt lower ICC ilvl because firemage and warrior want to remain broken, he clearly didnt know that at 3.4 how far below fire mage warrior would be

the 12% boost to ret and 20% to feral were completely unwarranted

feral now being #1 overall and ret #2 melee is absurd

Paladins are mid tier until shadowmourne, where they still aren’t the best, and are effectively tied with a few other specs.

The problem is…?

Oh, right, you just don’t like rets being playable.

… a few hundred DPS on single target, and ahead on cleave? OMG the horror!

Ret is at best tied for 2nd, along with warriors, another hybrid…

Seems fine to me. Balance is about keeping DPS outputs similar to each other, which, they accomplished?

Also, no one is defending the extent of feral druid’s buffs.

Any dps that uses a legendary weapon SHOULD be one of the highest dps in the raid.

Unless that class is a paladin, according to Abralan.

Also, TAJ is not performing as well in practice, as it does in sims. I got one and tested it myself in ICC encounters.

It’s strong for sure, but not nearly as strong as sims are showing.

ret should not be #2 melee when warrior is low utility and can also use the same item

Ret is not even close to top melee if they use said utility. Making them low utility as well if they want to claim a high spot.

By the time anyone is hitting close to any sim numbers, cata prepatch will be on the horizon anyway so none of this matters.

Ret is middle of the pack at best from all the ptr encounters in ICC I have seen.
