No-one is going to replace the green back any time soon. Its basically the new ‘gold standard’ (despite being unpegged from the gold standard).
That’s the problem. Its not possible for “one bank” to do it. The interconnected nature of the system requires banks to work together, and no-one will work with a bank that gets sanctioned for supporting terrorists/smugglers/thieves.
So that bank withers on the vine too.
Kinda why the fiat hard currency still works, because of thieves and crooks.
I’ve seen more people on some private servers then any single retail realm. There’s a lot of insane youtube videos where you see stormwind or orgrimmar filled with every square inch of players, way more then I’ve ever seen in 14 years of retail.
Although this happens because theres no sharding and most private servers only have 1 realm with no player cap (just fill it till it lags). But still its amazing to see a lot of people love Classic.
And I think its a good thing Blizzard is finally doing there own, now we can play it officially instead of getting it from a back alley dealer.
Ya i’m with you but its wishful thinking, if you think about it arena/bgs etc, there won’t be nearly the player base to make these servers fun. For each additional era the capture they will just keep dividing their player base essentially.
The only way they could realistically do it is if they had a “progression” server, like everquest has, they steadily release raids/expansions on one server… so the classic server would stay classic for a year or so and then turn into BC–>wotlk–> cata etc etc…
It’ll be a mix. I know people who play PServers and when I asked them if they will come play Classic with me I get a mixed response. Some are happy to see Blizzard offering the option again. Others say no because they don’t want to pay a subscription again. I disagree with them, but what can you do?

well in all the hustle and bustle of you wanting time to stand still, other people will move on… blizz’s sub count is already low enough, but your solution is to further divide the player base?
not my problem and the server was never intended to move into bc/wotlk.
they made that bed for themselves with bfa and several other expansions
most of the people who commit to playing classic wouldn’t be playing retail anyway so this is not even worth debating
its you younger generations that are responsible for the state of BFA, constant crying imbalance when things were fine… What do you expect to happen when literally everybody in the top raiding guilds are in their BiS gear?? they will continue to raid weekly?? loll… lets be clear, im not against classic servers im just pointing out the flaw of having 5+ servers for each expansion and how easily those numbers will get thinned out… But keep your snow flake mentality its k idc.

Both Nost spawns are pretty shady, one is a bit more open about it. While many plan to shut down, they also plan on launching TBC servers when Classic launches.
Closing their vanilla servers probably has more to do with possible legal issues with Blizzard, and lower demand for vanilla servers.
The server had 3k on launch day. I wonder if Classic will also continue to grow a year after launch like Nostalrius.

you were talking about wotlk in this post… there was no room for theory crafting if you ever did anything at a high level, there was always a ‘best’ spec.
from the same post - thinking outside the box in many situations means you have screwed yourself out of mandatory talents. there will ALWAYS be a best spec for pve encounters.
and based on your achievements (300 arena wins before 1550 in any bracket) you are awful at pvp too. but hey man grats on 100,000 HK’s and not learning anything.

Wrong, I did raid at a high level and there were multiple builds… I mained DISC during ulduar and we cleared it 25 weekly noob. You are just a sheep who follows what the “pros” do and think you are right because of such.

I was happy to see this post. I looked up LH (not sure why you didnt just name it) and confirmed the news. I guess its old news through, since it was announced late 2018. I played on Elysium/LH for 18 months or so. was a great server, even with all the admin drama. Nice to see!
I suppose I was not explicit that these were my friends from retail so yes, I know that once upon a time they paid a retail subscription. I don’t know play on PServers myself so I don’t know anyone from PServers… The only folks I know are through other venues.
I don’t disagree that the people you describe exist but they are not the only folks out there.
