"Private Auras" please add these to pvp too!

I agree, destroy the World of Warcraft.

I mean the only reason these addons exist is because the only way you can succeed at a high level is having this information readily available for you to respond to. The game does an absolutely garbage job of portraying this information, so addons make up for it.

I’ve played this game so much that I could close my eyes during a 3s match and tell you every global every spec is pressing because i’m so used to the audio Q’s of GCDs…and even that isn’t enough to respond to things appropriately.

There is way too much going on, most of which needs to be responded to instantly, for the game to not be displaying info in the way addons have allowed. They are simply displaying info that the games base UI should be displaying.

Not sure it would be possible to play a hybrid healer/damage class without macros. You’d need a million keybinds because you couldn’t combine damage and beneficial abilities to the same keybind through a macro.

For example, I wouldn’t be able to combine smite and flash heal to the same macro keybind.

addons are cancer

People sitting there with their 4 keybinds thinking “addons and macros are why I’m losing every game”.

Pretty sure this will be a massive improvement for most pvp players.

The irony is there are already audio Q’s in game almost all of which are way more reliable than their visual counterparts.

Can’t really see combustion but sure can hear it

Warbreaker easy to hear

Avenging wrath and serpahim easy to hear

Yeah, audio has gotten a lot better over the years.

Well I mean, focus macros, stopcast macros, castsequence macros, aoe placement macros, targeting macros all save you a ton of time and give a clear advantage over someone not using them.

It seems like this would be on the chopping block as well if they’re concerned with addons.

2 key… 4 key… 6 key… w key… yeah, yeah that’s about right.

If other players are expecting me to be a robot like them, they’ve been sorely mistaken. I love seeing druids cast cyclone on my bladestorm, expecting me to cancel it, but uh no I’m not gonna do that lol. It makes players weaker by habit, and I just won’t be using it. If I wanted to do anything on autopilot, I would fly commercial airliners or some other A-B gig.

Having keybinds is also an advantage. Should we disable those?

What if having my monitor turned on isn’t part of my playstyle?

i dont play w many addons at all because of this, but i think most players would improve from realizing they don’t need to clutter their screen w useless bs

That’s part of the skill cap I mentioned. If you just brainlessly press buttons without a care for context, the addon (while it’s facilitating a response) isn’t necessarily a net gain.

I see lots of MWs press Revival instantly when I Dragonrage regardless of the context of the match. I then proceed to happily hold my damage for a global.

Same thing can be true of Deep Breath. People will use a defensive when they’re not even in the path of the effect.

There’s nothing in the game that teaches you how to create a macro. You have to seek it out.

A new player wouldn’t have a clue how to even create one without outside help yet it’s a very important part of being competitive.

If blizz thinks addons are giving an advantage, it stands to reason that macros would be on the chopping block too.

Guided macro creation would be a great addition to the game, similar to how WA helps you quickly create buff trackers.

Every class discord has people asking for macro help and it’s something like “hey guys how do I bind rallying cry into eneraged regen but also have it use my healthstone”

I think my favorite was a Warlock who was dead set on having a medallion port pact wall and soulburn healthstone.

IDK I don’t see the problem with addons. You’re literally complaining people have access to information about what is happening in game.

Honestly the biggest thing that’d happen if they disabled all addons would be that people who already were playing without them wouldn’t notice a difference and would start to insist that people found a way to still use theirs. :dracthyr_crylaugh:

“He only trinketed my stun during my offensive CDs because of a weakaura”

“Nobody would’ve noticed my Skyfury that came immediately after my Stormkeeper”
