Pristine Servers

The Longest lasting content, it’s not raids, it’s not dungeons, it’s Community and over the years of this great game community has been hurting at the cost of convenience. I don’t want to suggest these conveniences are evil in nature but they have hurt server communities, these conveniences being CRZ, LFR, LFR, and being able to turn on and off PVP on a whim.

So that is why I am humble suggesting that the idea of Pristine Servers be revisited. For those that are not are of what Pristine Servers are, they are described officially on this post from J Allen Brack while bartering with people who wanted classic wow servers.

I love the idea of Pristine Servers. I have one big problem though… I don’t want to reroll. I get they don’t want to allow transfers willy-nilly, but give a short window to let me transfer my main and I’m in.

these conveniences being CRZ

No.

LFR

I am yet to see a single proof that this has anything to do with a community

LFD

Is in wide use across all MMO’s and doesnt have the effect you say it does

and being able to turn on and off PVP on a whim.

…player choice being a BAD thing…:expressionless:

You’d probably get more traction if you post some day that is not Christmas/another major holiday.

Not as lively but I’ll definitely take my topic over there thanks.

@Aehl

I feel you’re intentionally being ignorant to how damaging these features you are defending are but I have no intention of taking these away from you so fear not.

With such compelling arguments such as, “No,” I don’t see what else there is to say. Guess we better pack up our bags and give up on pristine servers because this guy says no!

I would play on a Pristine server in a heartbeat.

I like the idea of it being tied to a single server, more of a hardcore mode where you must bond with your fellow server players to overcome dungeons/raids etc. But I don’t want to be forced into vanilla unbalanced classes, crappy models, molten core for the rest of eternity, no updated content etc. So I really hope they consider Pristine servers someday because I’d sure as hell play on them.

I always thought pristine servers was a much more compelling idea than Classic. The only thing that ever really appealed to me about Classic was the idea of an actual server community returning. But they’ve already said that Classic will have sharding so I guess it’s not the place for me.

Give me modern WoW without group finder and without sharding and I’ll be a much more engaged player. WoW as an instanced theme park is just sort of dull. I hope somebody at Blizzard understands that.

As in I disagree.

Unless you can point to any relation between the two…

Never going to happen

The fact that a major Blizzard employee stated that they were considering it and would keep an eye out for future input says, to me, rather than a blank “never happen” it’s a “we’re thinking about it”.

I’d be more into pristine servers than Classic.

I would at the very least check out pristine servers.

How long has it been since NA got any kind of new server? Since WotLK maybe? It’d be pretty interesting to see how quickly it’d take a brand new server to get its economy up and running, raid guilds established, etc with the game in its current state.

The problem with pristine servers is that it is not Classic WoW.
Pristine Servers would not have aspects of Classic WoW, and i mean every single aspect.
The only true Classic WoW experience is the 1.12 Client, not a watered down limited version of BFA.
Pristine Servers is basically Project 60 if you ever were a part of that.

It wouldn’t change a thing and it will infact make it worse. If there is no lfd ppl will use an addon or an offsite lfd. This isn;t 2004, players are way more smarter and way more resourceful than the kill a mob and sit days :rofl:

All you will accomplish is converting more ppl than what we have now into solo players rather than group and thereby giving blizzard the data than ppl prefer single player experience over group play . :+1:

They were thinking about the Pristine servers as a compromise instead of Classic servers. Obviously, they decided on Classic. Does that mean no Pristine servers ever? Possibly not, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

With the addition of Classic servers, the population of WoW is going to be split two ways and if they opened Pristine, that would be three. Probably not the wisest of decisions, to be honest. There are already servers struggling with low pops. That would only make it much, much worse.

Every change made through out the games life has made many players stop playing it including myself after many years.
We will be there for Classic Servers.

When TBC is released for Classic servers, the population will be split between Classic WoW and Classic TBC and retail.
The game as a whole will be at its peak player base at this point.
Retail will have to merge Realms

Nope will never happen

When TBC is released for Classic servers, the population will be split between Classic WoW and Classic TBC and retail.

This has never been discussed or even mentioned.
