Blizzard it's time for the Pristine Servers

For those whole a wondering what a Pristine server is, it was an idea of WoW with all the “quality of life” stripped away.

We currently see a huge divide over what players once and I believe it’s time to fix this issue by giving both parties what they want. One enjoys current WoW one does not.

Give us the servers with no LFG, LFR, Titanforging, CRZ, personal loot and all that stuff.
Make some new servers, no boosts allowed, no server transfers just clean new servers with old style rules.

I’m not here to argue to logistics of putting these in, I firmly believe these would be hugely popular and more than likely good for the community as a whole so we don’t have to spend time having a forum war telling each other the systems that we liked better don’t suck

I wish they would have done Pristine Servers instead of Classic servers. It would have been no CRZ too.

forgot about CRZ too, ill add that to the list of things to not have

yeah and the moment people start pining for the QoL changes, the “pristine” servers will go back to being pristine as in unused and empty.

Yes, I like the idea of Pristine servers, not as a replacement for Classic, but a replacement of the community crushing monstrosity that Blizzard has created with their phasing/CRZ/LFG garbage.

Sort of like the live servers now

I have a rule of thumb I follow.

When someone says, “it’s time for”, I look at it as the opposite and say, “it will never be time for.” As it is typically a bad idea.

That being said, this idea would not work in that the current iteration of the game doesn’t appear to be that popular and not for the reasons listed. The targeted playerbase has changed over time and less and less players are interested in MMO style of games. Changes like these simply would be a drop in a swimming pool.

targets different player base

game becomes less popular

perhaps the game is less popular because it’s not being targeted at people that wanted to play an MMO?

we are all basing this of what we think we know but we have no way of knowing. The game is getting shot at from all angles and maybe trying something different could at least provide information for the future.

What is this was wildly popular? what is if it was a complete dud what if it hit the middle ground?

This wouldn’t change anything.

LFG/LFR, Titanforging, CRZ, sharding, and personal loot are not destroying the game. It’s the overall design concepts (classes, gear, item acquisition, etc…)

Also, you would effectively be chasing out the majority of the people that populate and play the game: casuals. Casuals are required to have a decent server population to play with.

We don’t know this we can’t prove it and the only way to find out anything is to experiment

for all we know removing all the listed above could improve player interactions with each other and restore the MMO that people seem to feel is starting to go missing.
It could create the community again people seem to believe that is coming lost.

All we are doing is speculating and the only way to find out is to trail systems like this to really see if it was more effective.

I was going to use that joke.
but really, all of the stuff you said I’m for with the exception of if you’re removing personal loot, remove the hot garbage known as master loot cause no one should ever be controlling that beyond the dice.

No. Market research is a thing. It’s an incredibly bad idea for a company to risk millions of dollars on idle experiments.

That’s just a guess on your part.

Trial how? It would take an enormous experiment to simulate a community.

Players would just use an offline lfd and addons to bring the Qol back much like what going to become of classic

Players always choose the path of least resistance to accomplish their goals else we would have prot warriors in the mythic scene :rofl:

You can’t control what other ppl do :-1:

I personally don’t support this at all and hope time isn’t wasted on it. People call my want for more customization a ‘waste of time’, but to me, this would be a waste.

Blizz makes MMOs?!?

if this isn’t for you then you have don’t have to interact with it.

If they don’t work out what systems work correctly then WoW is going to be in trouble, stocks for blizzard are going down, we’ve discovered what it’s currently like to work for blizzard and if WoW isn’t slamming in revenue then the game gets less updates and everyone loses

You can all try to deny it as much as you like but all you’re doing is compounding them problems that need to be addressed for the better of the game

They do indeed, they made one of the biggest Mass Marketing Oopsies in 2018: You guys have phones, right?

Yep, I am personally causing the problems, you got me.

But nah, regardless of what you say, I don’t support development being wasted on this, because in my opinion, it would be a waste. Perfectly fine if you disagree–people have different opinions. Me? I’m giving mine.

Rather than working on fixing the problems in the actual game, we should make new servers and waste time that could be better used fixing the systems…? Yeah, no.

How do you propose we fix the systems when we don’t know what worked better?

If we wanted to fix systems we’d replace them with what worked and you’d end up with every server being what I wanted due to the sub counts being so much higher back then

I don’t exactly think they should be wasting time making a pet battle dungeon but they still did

There’s ten thousand threads going right now on suggestions to fix the current systems. I’m simply disagreeing with your idea. And that’s fine, that’s your personal opinion. That’s the beauty of things. We’re sharing opinions, I’m giving mine. Forums are for feedback and idea proposition. People point out when they don’t like ideas. I am doing so here. You disagree? That’s fine. I’m not trying to change how you think.
