We don’t know this, it’s just stated when sentient life started on Azeroth the trolls were among the very first. There’s no time frame given.

Troll propaganda. The actual first ones were elementals, Old Gods and aqir. Then the Titans came, put the Old Gods to sleep and drove the aqir underground. Then the Trolls established their empire on aqir land, which is rightfully aqir clay.
I just don’t get where you get any time frame on the start of the first trolls though, we don’t know how long they shuffled around as tribes before starting their first empire.
As it’s stated the trolls was among the very first sentient races to arise on Azeroth, and that would probably put them around the age of the proto-drakes.
All land is elemental land!
But on a more serious note, it’s not unlikely that the trolls are former elementals turned to flesh like the proto-dragons. This would place them at the dawn of life on Azeroth, as well as being (one of) the first “natural” sentient race(s).
It would even reverse retcon what the devs said years back that Azeroth had the elementals, trolls, faceless ones, old gods and aqir before the titans arrived, into being semi true again.

I wonder how elementals turned into beings of flesh in the first place.
We don’t exactly know, but it’s just stated that some of the elementals that escaped being imprisoned in the elemental planes became fleshy over time and the proto-dragons were born.
Probably have something to do with the energies of the well of eternity or the spirit element (also known as chi). It is described to exist in all mortals and what connects living creatures to all other elements, it also brings balance to other elements.
We’ve seen constructs being exposed to the spirit element turn to flesh. Which is how the Ogres and Orcs was born on Draenor since that planet had an abundance of spirit.

The Dark Trolls were also in Warcraft III, recruitable during the Battle for Mount Hyjal, though yes, Warcraft III lore stated that Night Elves were the first race on Azeroth. But I liked the Dark Trolls, and I don’t dislike the retcon that Night Elves evolved from them. In turn, though, I am not sure why Troll fans are fixated on this, given that’s not their original lore in the first place.
Please no more titan releated race and don’t make them titan creation cuz titans reaally boring…

Nah, nothing could ever be quite so bad as shadowlands. its actually a amazing effort the writers put in making it possibly one of the worst written stories.
I’m in the boat that Trolls shouldn’t be made into Titanforged but I do like it how Trolls appropriated some Titan architecture into their own. Honestly the Titanforged having their own architecture depending on where they were stationed is interesting to me.
It felt more organic than what Blizzard did in Shadowlands when it came to species like the Nerubians. Which somehow based their style off Maldraxxus since the Scourge took the Nerubian style following the War of the Spider. And Blizzard said Maldraxxus was intentionally designed to look like the classic scourge seen in WC3 and Vanilla.
