Is the Primal MoonCloth set really BIS for Healers for the majority of the expansion?
It’s never BiS for Shaman and Paladins. It’s decent enough for Druids in Phase 1, but Windhawk is just as good for the most part and more useful going forward. Priests can use it up until T6 gear.
The chest is right on par with T5 chest and the belt is BiS until T6 for shamans. The belt is better than T4 for paladins.
Priests replace in t5 even so no healer uses the entire set for the majority of the xpac some items last longer than others but none use the set for the majority.
No, all healers will eventually replace in phase 2 (tier 5). It’s best for druids and even druid tier 5 is better, tho as far as loot priority healers with this set might be lower than most other classes. IMO, while tier 5 is better, the mooncloth set is very good throughout tier 5.
If you need the extra mana regen from the set bonus, tier 5 might be a side grade as far as healing output (though you’re losing set bonuses from the tier). But the mooncloth has no stamina at all. Tier 5 is better.
For priests yes, unless you decide to drop tailoring and then you have to get alternatives in p2
No, it’s not.
But it’s very good for priests/druids, and it 's accessible for players who aren’t actually seeing raid content.
Girdle of Fallen Stars is better than Primal Mooncloth Belt. The PMC chest isn’t even close to the T5 chest. In any case, Windhawk is a better choice for Shaman in Phase 1, so they shouldn’t be crafting either piece in the first place.
It’s obviously pretty good in raw +healing, but honestly you get 0 stam, and very low int/spirit.
If you have MC set and especially if you have a few other pieces with no stam like prince ring, nightbane neck etc, a light breeze will kill you
