Man I’ve been leveling a priest lately, leveling as shadow now, and I just feel like a total monster. At first it felt like a bit of a slog, but as I’ve gotten more talents it’s really come into it’s own. I’m just going from mob to mob destroying things, and my mana never seems to go below 3/4 full unless I’m fighting multiple mobs together. Even then though I still don’t have to drink with spirit tap, etc. I am using a few heirloom pieces, but still it’s been nice and pretty fun. I’m level 39 now so just about to get shadowform which should improve things even more!
How is shadow at max level? My intentions are to go disc mainly but I do plan to have dual spec and shadow as my other spec. Is it any good? Are priests able to solo anything, like mounts and stuff like that?
I’ve never liked shadow but want a disc priest at max level. Literally can’t bring myself to level shadow but should give it a try sometime (now that I have heirlooms)
Yeah I know what you mean. Right from pre-patch into Wrath release I kept thinking I wanted a priest at max level but actually leveling it seemed like it would be so boring and dull, however after getting some heirloom gear and giving it a go it’s been pretty fun.
There are also multiple ways to level a priest, not just shadow. Sure shadow is the dps spec so will probably be the best, but you can build a holy dps type spec, or even level as disc.
Once I get to level 60 I may try disc to see how it is for soloing with penance. I have a weird thing with leveling healers, my level 80 is a holy/prot paladin that I leveled basically from 60 to 80 as holy.
