Just fyi, more than 50% of an entire role being one class across all brackets and ratings isn’t just “not being able to handle the heat”, that speaks to absolutely gross class imbalance

Lol these softies. Your class was an absolute god so far in the season. If u got some nerfs well welc9me to the real world. Also i qued solo shuff and had mostpy priest healers. So your saying just u got nerfed?

Imagine thinking that representation has anything to do with balance rather than what someone put at the top of a tierlist.
It’s because priest is the easier/most accessible healer to play- at least disc is imo. Then holy got buffed into absurdity, which hopefully was fixed with the recent hotfix.
IMO, disc is pretty fair now and I think it’s a proper spec that deserves to be viable (unlike holy priests). Definitely strong and low stress compared to every other healer, but that’s probably a big reason it’s the most popular healer.
I personally like playing disc as one of my alt healers. If I just want to sit back, chill and listen to music while healing RSS, disc has me covered.

In this case it’s exactly because of balance… Do you think every single team in the AWC was just running priest healers because ven/supatease made a tier list? lol
- Using the world’s best players to understand game balance is wild.
- They’re also going to play whatever is 0.00003% better for their comp. That doesn’t mean the other healers aren’t good.
Lots of healers specialize in different classes… It’s why we saw someone try and play resto druid into an arcane mage despite that being the worst match up multiple times.
Holy priest is far better than .00003% better than the next healer or not you’d have seen more people at least try their mains more than once.
Holy priest has zero counters with an insane toolkit.
This is completely ignoring the fact that 50% or more of the healing ladder for 3s and solo shuffle is disc or holy priests. 55% in 3s. That’s not just the world’s best players, that’s more than half of all healers playing 1 of the 6 classes with healing specs.
They aren’t just “0.000003% better”
You don’t see absolutely massive representation imbalances like that without dramatic differences in performance

Almost everyone in this game is going to take the path of least resistance when it comes to getting rating in the mode they prefer.
If they were to nerf priests into the ground, then you’d be back complaining about being spam cloned and nothing dying until 80% damp every game.
If they were to nerf druids into the ground, you’d be back complaining about aggro rshams ruining all your goes every game. ect… ect…
I expect they’ll do a few more smaller tunings over the season “we all asked for, btw” and we’ll see where it all ends up. until then, just reroll and enjoy your life a little more… if you’re really that bothered by it, that is.

I think its important at this point to differentiate holy and disc when saying “priests”. Its also important to consider the amount of players who play priest is naturally more than say, monk or evoker. Its not a linear comparison.
Also if you still think disc is op, youre cooked.

Disagree. People, especially WoW players, are susceptible to group think. There’s a difference between something being mechanically and mathematically stronger which has to be probed out through sims and data analysis and “the average joes are all playing hpriest because they saw cdew on it in AWC and someone on wowhead said it was the best”.
Just to prove my point, there has been a massive uptick in hpriest participation in SS according to Drustvar, and yet its win rate has gone down and is still below rsham and rdruid. How would you explain that if it wasn’t within at least a marginal distribution with those other healers.
