Pretty Bummed out with the boost

Just wanted to vent here before I get off for tonight, I know this will likely be buried.

I just learned of the 58 boost today and, well that was kinda a gut punch for me, one of the 2 main things I didn’t want in classic (LFD/R).

I spent most of classic helping various friends level and not much raiding as a consequence. I never joined that semihardcore guild I always wanted to, I don’t have many connections in the game. Now it feels like the one thing I did accomplish is gone, and I lost my motivation to do much.

As someone who spent all his time leveling his friends and himself, this was honestly heartbreaking. I understand how inefficient I was being but that’s honestly what i enjoyed, just helping my friends level.

I don’t really understand how the community that fought tooth and nail for “the authentic classic experience” is rolling over for this, but whatever. I could go into why I think this doesn’t help the botting/boosting situation, or player retention but you have enough armchair game analyst on this forum. I do think this is gonna make Hellfire Peninsula more stressful for everyone on launch, and don’t really see how you could argue otherwise.

I’ll probably be out for TBC with the boost as it stands now, just cause of the way it demotivates my friends and I to play which is ironic. I wish everyone the best, I really hope this would be reversed and I could become super pumped for BC again, but if not then that’s that.

I’m right there with ya brotha. Hopefully blizz changes their minds on it. People can level now if they want to experience hellfire at launch. No reason they can’t

Right? Don’t all the level adjustments go into effect prepatch anyway?

Yeah same. It’s an absolute deal breaker for me too.

What kind of level adjustments? I haven’t heard of these yet

2.3.0 they reduced exp required to level by 30%, and also increased exp from quests 30-60 by about 50%. As well as more quests, and more streamlined quests.

It’s a huge reduction in time to level.

Oh wow and people still want boosts? What has this community come to

You are not alone my friend. I love running low level dungeons with my friends. Be it with my low level alt, or a high level one helping them for a dungeon for quests. I don’t regret it and neither should you, because that was fun! I’m sure your buddies appreciated it as well.

Oh no  :violin: boosting bad if it’s not done by a mage.

this thread is full of people who have said they will quit. it’s a done deal. none have quit. all whine every moment they can on the forums about something that won’t change. don’t even need to snark them, they’re self owning.

If I had a dollar every time I saw an “I quit” post since vanilla in 05 I could retire today.

Is there a way to ignore certain people in forums? Anyways I don’t like the boosting soo mich because of many problems pointed out. And fresh servers can help reduce bot domination. Of course in itself its not fool proof. We need people to report botters and blizzard have Game Masters “watching” the dungeons to see the botting and some world areas.

me too, brother. i take a note on retail people who say they quit and then lol to myself how they post literally every day for 6+ months after. then you call them out on the fact they keep posting after a 6 month sub would’ve been up and then they blame blizz for their nefarious p2w 6 month bundle practices. copers gonna cope. lol

Judging by the increase in size of various WoW classic discussion boards/subs/threads/etc. after it’s launch, the majority of the current audience is not the one that advocated for classic. I suspect there are many retailers that don’t like where retail has gone, but at the same time are not on board with the classic experience either and advocate for changes to classic, as getting changes in retail is considerably harder because “muh vision!” that Blizzard likes to repeat. I think many are not aware all these conversations we are having were had a decade ago.

you said you pay for your sub with retail gold. how about logging onto one that has achievement launch day achievements? don’t even need to have pvp titles or anything. just asking you to prove you played and did stuff pre wrath, as you’ve said you have.

Ty very much. Now to ignore some pesky naysayers about fresh servers.

typical classic forum response. not wanting a discussion. just an echo chamber. and legit blocking anyone who disagrees with you. lol
