Prescience macro help

I was hoping someone might be able to help me I am looking for a macro that will cast Prescience on my focus without needing to change targets, thanks in advance

You should be able to have a shift modifier for your focus target in the game menu. No macro needed.

Under combat, there is Focus Cast Key you can set.

I would recommend mouseover casts for it though since you can have it on two targets.

TBH a focus target isn’t going to be super helpful because you’ll need to maintain it on two targets at once. A mouseover or clique macro would likely serve better.

Unfortunately you can’t make a macro to swap back and forth between two targets.

ive just been letting AI handle that. I have focus macro for scales on tank. I have not been able to get the healer targets spell to work yet. I do feel us having three targets spells is kinda stupid though. Tank, DPS, and a healer buff spell.

from what I understand, scales auto-casts on the target of your target, (which should be the tank) so you may not need a focus macro there.

And the healer buff also auto-targets the nearest healer, so in 5-mans that should only be the one person. Raids you would have to pick your target if you want someoen specific, though.

Mouseover Macros/or Enabling the option to Mouseover with spells will serve you better. Rather then a focus Macro etc.

But you probably could with a cast @Playername macro along with an Alt Modifier. You would just need to constantly need to change the player names in it. I see some people do this In PVP often for certain spells. But to me that would be annoying…and odds are I would forget to change before the pull/gates open.

Really if you don’t want to go the Mouseover route, I would just let the AI handle it.

Scales targeting is worded weirdly, but if you are targeting an enemy when you cast it, it will go on whoever that enemy is currently targeting.

Just since no one typed the command, it should just be:

/cast [target=focus] Prescience

There may be a (bronze) at end or whatever, can just shift click the spell in your spellbook while in the macro window to paste it perfectly.

I had a lot of issues with Scales last night in raid. I was targeting boss, and boss was targeting the tank, but when I pushed Scales nothing happened half the time (or it would cast on myself). No macros or anything for Scales; just dragged the ability from my book and put it on my bar.

#showtooltip Prescience
/target [Focus]
/cast Prescience
/targetlasttarget

I thought of this, but it wouldn’t work because Prescience needs two targets.

Best just to make two macros and add the target names into them.

*Well, it’s great if you’re unconcerned with only keeping the buff up on one person.

Or
#showtooltip
/cast [@focus] Prescience

I was having issues with that macro for some reason.

a friend of mine discovered that even if a boss is in range, your target may not be and thus scales will fail to cast, so that might be the issue you were having

Yeah that’s what i gathered.

It will work if your tank is in range of you.

If you have it target the focus target, then you could assign a key to just make the current target the focus, or use F-keys with a simple focus macro, and that would allow you to use a bunch of generic target = focus macros.

Darn that 20 yard range! Thanks

Has anyone tested what happens if two evokers attempt to cast scales on the same tank?

2 scales buffs will show with 15 stacks each.

Except when it doesn’t.
