Wait, there was supposed to be zombies in the capital cities?
Well that’s lame. I’d be running around helping lowbies blow up zombies now. All this talk of ganking made me believe people were being flagged and killed by players, that I’m against.
But zombies and undead raiding us? That sounds awesome.
And i can assure that that have created some bother from yours truly. It does suck that Blizzard did nerfed the zombies to an extreme degree. I think their should’ve found a middle-ground for these zombies where their not too weak or not too strong.
I actually didn’t know their was a zombie cap that low.
Well that’s dumb. Isn’t the point of being a ghoul is to infect anything and everything in sight, especially since the npc’s has a tendency to fight back?
I agree they should buff them to make them not die as easily, though i don’t agree making them super strong or anything.
I have mixed feelings on this one.
On the one hand, i can see how that can be annoying where if you jump off a plight of stairs, you take like 99% of damage. On the other… well you are a walking rotting corpse.
Agreed. I was hoping for some disruption over the next week or two. To really add scale as to WHY the Scourge were an existential threat (and how the Lich King was needed).
I also dislike that alot of the progress is capped on dailies and ‘rare spawns’. I don’t even needed the gear, I just wanted to round out some of the gear recolors.
Tbh, I was hoping they would do an updated White-Tier2 Pally Set recolor. Instead we got a slight recolor of Arathi Armor.
The whole thing feels more like waiting then taking any proactive action.
If the person doesn’t want to participate in that event, then what does it matter? their stilling an MMO, doing all the other MMOy things.
People should have the choice to participate in whatever they please. If their only choice to opt out is to leave the game and wait for it to run it’s coarse, i don’t think that’s good for the game.
Subjectively speaking.
You can say “this is boring, boring, BORING” all you want, but it’s still gonna be your subjective opinion at the end of the day.
How does this event makes the game worse?
Didn’t the Wrath event got cut short because players left at that time?
And the event will have impact. But you’re acting like the choice to opt in or out will make it dull or impact-less.
… That’s pretty debatable.
Well since RP is about pretending, why not just pretend theirs a bunch of ghouls around then? That’s what i did in my RP’s.
Yea, i wonder how well that worked out for Wrath’s.
I mean at this point, why not just take your own advice and don’t play an MMO if you don’t like the fact that other people choose on how to have fun and don’t want to participate in events? You later on you said “WoW is your least fav mmo”… so why aren’t you playing your most fav mmo?
…And then you will come back a month later. Let’s be real here.
That’s like saying “i hate PvP so much that i want this game to fail”. Kinda selfish don’t you think?
Even if it did got tweaked, you would still say “it’s ruined!”.
Players impact my game all the time even if i’m not doing this event, though economy, groups, meeting few in a game world, killing mobs or getting stuff before i can, interacting stuff they left behind, etc. Just because it’s not a PvP interaction, doesn’t mean nobody is getting impacted by other players.
I question why you play Wow if you think this is a sub-par mmo and think Blizzard is playing it safe.
I would say the exact thing back at you. It’s just an event where people can opt out or in to it that you apparently dislike. It’s just TWO WHOLE weeks. Two. TWO. T. W. O. TWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWO.
No, the event defines the scenario. When there is an event going on, it’s likely most people will play that event, and are playing for that event. So this is someone complaining about something they’re voluntarily taking part in.
It’s going around complaining about Christmas. It’s going around complaining about Halloween. It’s functionally understandable, I guess, but everyone knows how fun that type of person is.
I played on the ptr and wish it was like that on live. In 10 ilvl gear I certainly stood a chance against the ghouls, especially if you took them to the argent healer who would aoe any ghouls who came close and cleanse you (with a debuff of I think 2 mins between cleansings). Ghouls seemed to scale based on your character’s level and were a baseline strength, so mythic geared players going ghoul was the same as the random lowbies.
I do think player zombies were a bit more powerful than npc ones, not just because they can pick their targets, but that wasn’t terrible either. All in all I don’t think this event would have been nearly as disruptive as people are making it out to sound like if they nerfed the ghouls just a little bit.
But That’s just my opinion.
EDIT: I also have to agree with others about the scourge feeling entirely underwhelming based upon the importance the lore placed on keeping them contained. “Oh no, four zombies are attacking the crossroads, we are being overrun!” just does not sit very well with me. I’d be fine if it was more like the Legion invasions where it was a huge thing for a few hours then the zone went back to normal.
One group wants to force PvP and (in the OPs own words) grief people with PvP turned off.
One group does not want PvP forced on them when they have PvP turned off.
Which group is trying to have other people change for their own convenience? If you turn warmode on you literally get the event you want while others get to avoid it like they want.
That group also want to break into houses and take candy from people who do not want to participate.
One group wants to be able to turn their lights off and not participate.
You are using some major false equivalency here. You and the OP’s entire point seems to be that you can’t have fun unless you are going after people who do not want to participate.
To use your own example. You are getting your Halloween, you just have to turn warmode on and trick or treat with other people who want to celebrate it.
Prepatch event so far: Kill Nathanos upgrade weapon, do old meaningless ICC dailies, afk for 20 min and wait for rare spawns until you can buy all the gear you need, get I level 100 for doing next to nothing, wait 6 hours and 20 min and hope bag drops, repeat on next under gear character.
Nothing about this is going to get you farmed. You can do it with war mode off. I was doing it in war mode with a character with heirloom gear on and never once had to worry about getting ganked with my 8.6k hps.
