Prepare for the worst if we don't have RDF

And we dont play those games for a reason. If i wanted this id be playing FFXIV which is quite literally just “Better Wrath” with rdf.

LFG full of “GS xxxxx”. It will be beautiful.

That was occupied for a year long content drought one of the most complained about in wows history

As content droughts go id rank them

  1. Hellfire Citadel WOD

  2. Shadowlands SOD

  3. ICC Wotlk

  4. Emerald Nightmare Legion

As far as community reception goes

Yea, but at the time of ICC/RDF release that wasn’t an issue.

You’re equating RDF to something it wasn’t released to solved. RS was the attempt to bridge the gap and it failed.

Can you cite anything that suggests that?

I only found a blue post where they said the feature was “highly requested”. I read that as more than “stuff to deal with a content drought”.

Let’s not forget about how upset everyone was about TOC and how a lot of raiding guild had it on farm real quick

I’ll just leave it here, use it at your own discretion.

Yea, there’s multiple graphs out there, and blizzards own website showing the same lol.

The drought was caused by cata being pushed back. Something they new about well before rdf and icc were released.

You’re missing SOO.

Which exactly don’t show loss of subs of “1 year of drought” (lmao people have no idea what they’re talking about), and RDF came out with the most famous patch of the game already released.

Didnt play during seige so i cant judge that

So a feature was requested by the audience for a drought they knew nothing about.

did you read my post. i said rdf did a good job of remedying the content drought.

It was to increase accessibility. Simple as that. It’s obviously more convenient to be teleported to a dungeon with a random group of players.

What they didn’t realize, and what the community didn’t realize (still doesn’t realize), is that it “removes the reason you have to play with the same people over and over”, and that it “takes away some of the reason that some people play, and why they’d want to continue playing”.

The question now is, does RDF fall too far on the spectrum between accessibility and community, or does it not? Blizzard has, obviously, as evident through their messaging on the subject, multiple times, decided that it does go too far, and they don’t want to go down that same road again with whatever direction Classic moves from here on.

It matched 6.2 for longest content drought in the games history.

Fixed for you

Can you cite where you found that?

except it wasn’t introduced for that purpose.

But you’ll see when you have the longest P1 ever (if you think TBC P1 was long) with Naxx and no RDF.

Except it’s been stated that it was a highly requested feature in a post linked above.
