Throughout the game? Shamans were still in need of lightining capacitator.
Bears had their best in slot ring from Mag’s head.
Healing classes still had Mag’s head as best in slot ring in phase 2.
Some DPS classes also had their best in slot ring in Mag’s head.
Some classes still wanted Mag’s cloth glove.

I could go on this discussion, but if you truly knew about this, you would take a step back and breath just a little.
They added it at end patch and instantly regretted it. Now with classic they admitted it was wrong in the first place, that the community does not want it (this is one of those things where we might say we want it, but it’s terrible for the game’s health according to the devs, so therefore it is in our best interest to also want to follow the dev’s path on it), and that they want a place to foster more community interactions.
Here’s an interview with the cofounder where he talks about how the steep adoption curve was owed to the social structures required by the game to play, and how the genre has fallen off due to the adoption of accessibility.
It’s a great interview. Mike has an in depth perspective, I’d suggest watching the whole thing, but I get that it’s a bit long.
I don’t agree with his assessment, the genre has fallen off due to numerous reasons.
The genre eats a lot of time people don’t want to put into a single game anymore (lobby games like CoD, Fortnite, etc thrive)
Socializing in game isn’t needed like it used to be, we have a million other ways to socialize, logging into an MMO was not just logging in to play a game, it was logging in to talk to friends all over the world, now you can do that anywere.
