Prepare for the worst if we don't have RDF

In phase 5 or wotlk pre-patch? no.

Throughout the game? Shamans were still in need of lightining capacitator.

Bears had their best in slot ring from Mag’s head.
Healing classes still had Mag’s head as best in slot ring in phase 2.
Some DPS classes also had their best in slot ring in Mag’s head.
Some classes still wanted Mag’s cloth glove.

Ret Paladins were running SSC to get their shoulders, it was best in slot until SWP.
All melees for BOHD. Including prot war / feral tank.

I could go on this discussion, but if you truly knew about this, you would take a step back and breath just a little.

Likely not, but it’s still an item you keep forever and never replace.

Honestly the amount of gear that we don’t upgrade for holy almost makes me not want to play holy.

Yeah I remember that feeling. But… you are the best tank healer in the game.

Eh, I like the gearing process. It’s what i play for, love getting upgrades.

They added it at end patch and instantly regretted it. Now with classic they admitted it was wrong in the first place, that the community does not want it (this is one of those things where we might say we want it, but it’s terrible for the game’s health according to the devs, so therefore it is in our best interest to also want to follow the dev’s path on it), and that they want a place to foster more community interactions.

Hard to argue with that.

Source???

Still in the game till this day.

Pretty sure they loved it… if they hated it they would have removed it… lol

I linked an entire blue post where they said it was a highly requested feature.

So who is right? 2009 Blizzard or 2022 Blizzard? Which is it?

We may never know! :face_with_monocle:

I mean, When they added it, wow reached it’s peak of subscriptions.
It is an undeniable fact.

the roundtable interview for wrath classic. Google it.

So they don’t like RDF, but like character boosts, which didn’t even exist in WotLK.

Got it.

This sounds much more like a bunch of deranged liberals trying to tear down George Washington’s statue calling him a slave master.

They also never said they regretted it.

They just talked about how they knew it would change the game. Brian was there for it.

they should remove boosts too. Just because that exists doesnt mean we should have other game breaking systems lol.

He’s no longer associated. Not valid.

Hell, games without RDF systems flat out fail now.

Here’s an interview with the cofounder where he talks about how the steep adoption curve was owed to the social structures required by the game to play, and how the genre has fallen off due to the adoption of accessibility.

It’s a great interview. Mike has an in depth perspective, I’d suggest watching the whole thing, but I get that it’s a bit long.

They led the change in the industry. Everyone else followed. WoW has always been pioneer on it.

LFR tho… that kinda killed the raiding scene.

I don’t agree with his assessment, the genre has fallen off due to numerous reasons.

The genre eats a lot of time people don’t want to put into a single game anymore (lobby games like CoD, Fortnite, etc thrive)
Socializing in game isn’t needed like it used to be, we have a million other ways to socialize, logging into an MMO was not just logging in to play a game, it was logging in to talk to friends all over the world, now you can do that anywere.

I could keep going, but eh, made my point.

None of the games with RDF are even close to the success of WoW without RDF, and that includes WoW! lol
