How can I prepare for inscription? I’ve found a couple of frankly not good guides that just tell me what inks I may need, but no breakdown of the herbs to make them or if the stuff is vendored? I’d love to do as much pre-work I can so I can do isncription on my dk, is there any stuff I can farm or buy in advance that’ll give me a head start? Is there a good guide that explains this?
Have 2 stacks of every herb, minimum. 5 stacks if you can spare the bank alt space.
There are guides that tell you the inks you need and the herbs they drop off when you mill them.
I cant’ find any guide that’s doing anything more than telling me what inks I need. any1 got a link?
Qwik maffs:
Take your inks, multiply them by the pigment needed to create ink.
???
Profit.
Here you go friend.
“wow wrath of the lich king inscription leveling guide”
Top 2 links give good results.
…How are you not finding this?
Yeah the one I linked was the first search result lol
Get 100 (5 stacks) of every herb. Pretty much it.
Oh and a Macro/Addon to mill all those herbs like there are for Prospecting and DE’ing so you don’t get tired from milling 300+ times.
Inscription uses ink which is milled from plants, similar to prospecting ore or disenchanting items. This is largely random so you would store plants from each level bracket. I didn’t look too far into it though because I’m prepared for alc/jc. All the stuff I need can already be obtained. If there’s no guides for plants, I’d suggest looking at the ink, looking at what plants it is milled from, and going from there.
You better store those plants though because when wrath gets here low level zones will be covered in people racing for nodes and prices on all of it will soar. Plants will be the worst thanks to inscription. Fortunately for me, I got all my materials for 1-375 already. I’ll only need to fish then cook the fish.
he never looked for it on the first place
Only thing I’d add is I’ll probably double or even triple the amount of herbs the guides recommend.
Having the mats to make my own glyphs at will, then make extra glyphs to sell and/or sell the surplus herbs, depending on which is more profitable.
Inscriptions will make it so you don’t need to farm the shoulder enchant rep right?
If I recall nothing is great off them anyway besides the enchant and a mount?
I’m prolly wrong tho.
enchant shoulders and… the trinket everybody and their grandma wants
wich is boe so there will be gold to be made
Yeah I know the deck will be good but I didn’t really count that cuz it’s boe.
If you don’t need to farm the rep because inscriptions that’s probably pretty good.
What, you’re not looking forward to Blowing Hodir’s Horn, Thrusting Hodir’s Spear and Polishing the Helm day after day?
Lol naw I’m not.
I forget if anything else from Hodir is worth it, I thought they sold a mount?
Would be cool to just skip them entirely
Yeah, ice mammoth which allowed passengers.
Doing it on 1 toon for the BoA enchant at least.
Yeah I’m going Mage and she is already alchemy and engineering so I’ll probably just stick with that.
In the majority of cases, the “value” gained from inscription shoulder enchant is less than the “value” gained from other profession options… It’s honestly dramatically overblown by min maxers, but it is there. For example the physical damage inscription enchant is attack power, where JC or blacksmithing can allow you to get STRENGTH/AGILITY or even a top performing secondary like ArP.
That being said, the time saved by not having to do all the daily garbage does make scribe fantastic for alt characters, ESPECIALLY those that are caster dps (since spellpower is what you’d want anyway)
You underestimate the gold making potential there. Literally every str or agi user more or less has to buy that trinket (it’s also bis for Hpal I think). It’s hard to say whether it will be as lucrative as it was in og wrath, because so many more people know about making the cards themselves now (meaning the market will be more flooded, but on the flipside more people will know they should be buying the cards increasing demand), but 50k investment in og wrath was netting 150k+ just from making and selling cards/decks. It was blatantly the easiest legitimate gold generating method in the game.
