What I forgot to mention too is they should also allow cross faction queueing in BGs. That’s another thing.
20 players premade in a 40 player match - Unfair
5 players premade in a 10 player match - Fair
How does this compute around here?
Well, the system lets you queue for random bgs with a party up to 5 people… not 20 people.
I understand this of course, would we say this is done to implement balance in the matches?
If 5 is 50% of 10, 20 is 50% of 40.
Why is 20 not queueable?
What’s the logic behind these two is my question.
Ideally, premades wouldn’t have a much larger impact on a bg compared to pugs.
5 out of 40 is better than 5 out of 10. You’d actually want smaller premades (e.g. 2 people) in the 10-person bgs.
However, the system was designed to allow parties to queue up for any bg. And parties can have up to 5 players.
I’ll just leave this here…
(Point of View: backfilled into a losing AV last night featuring “full” SAS premade vs Alliance pugs)
https://i.imgur.com/cC9rJEz.png
Notice the steady “waterfall” of
Player X has left the battle
Player Y has left the battle
Player Z has joined the battle
Player Z has left the battle
A match simply being premade vs pugs usually creates “the Wintergrasp effect” where it’s a revolving door of players on the pug’s side, players zoning in and then immediately leaving, etc etc
I like how that one pug in the screenshot said “second time in an hour this happened”, premades must have been out in force/busy night
Also… seeing that “6 players have left the battle.” immediately right after I zoned in, must have been bleeding players pretty bad/lots of carnage
Dude, the egos that seem to go with these raid leaders is honestly disgraceful to witness. Rofl. Running from another premade group simply because they dont want to lose? How pathetic haha
First epic of the night and immediately facing a premade … what actual losers do this? rofl its honestly the most pathetic thing Ive seen in video gaming for the last 20 years Ive been gaming.
Are you sure it was? Just got out of a WG and it was 200 kills to something like 30. There was no premade but Alliance had 0 vehicles so I bet they assumed it was.
Some dude called Oce - Cenarius, apparently according to the BG chat hes one of the guys that only does premades and with a Honor level of 1500+ I’m inclined to believe it.
Its honestly pathetic that this stuff even happens
What was the kill count for everyone?
I just logged into a different character. I’m not contributing to their kill count when I can relog to a different character and be in another game within 2 mins instead of getting gy camped for 20.
Fair enough. It’s your game time to do that.
Make Epics an ranked option and BAN groups in non-ranked content.
OR
Make it so everyone queing a instanced pvp content have the same ilvl.
I’ve just recently started playing again, and it reminded me how annoyingly lopsided BGs are in WoW. I think it’s just that really. Very rarely there is a chance to rebound, usually you can tell after the first team fight who’s going to win. I think the only solution is to enjoy the fight and not the wins.
I wonder if some sort of mercy mechanic could help. Like, if there is definite advantage in killing blows after the first five minutes, then the winning team gets huge bonus to points and they win quickly. Except maybe CTF maps, because those are the only ones where the team fight doesn’t always equal win. It might eliminate the high from those rare resilient victories against a stronger opponent, but will also preserve mental health from lopsided losses. Although it might also become a meta to go for kills instead of map objectives and people would fight it over in the middle of the map and then go do the objectives. Anyway, just some ideas.
No, lol that’s not just it.
In that context, maybe some kind of vote system where the losing team could just vote to end it. A forfeit. Obviously something would have to be put in place to prevent farming groups that would just throw games for each other to farm cq but maybe after a certain amount of time, if a very large majority of the group wants to end it, then axe it. This would be a better alternative to what we have now with being farmed, constant deserters, and backfillers that get stuck with the crappy game.
Then we’ll see how flamboyant premade raids really want to be.
The only time ‘farming’ happens is when a WG defense pops up . That’s because it’s a timer and cannot be finished faster .
And reading the chat for that AV SAS was in , there is no strategy to farm to 200 and take last 2 towers . The only strategy is to stop the zerg . If SAS wanted to farm, why would they take any towers at all ?
I know you guys don’t like playing Epic BGs against Premades, but the reality is that Blizz won’t be able to fix this issue due to the nature of how the Queue system is implemented. Even if they take out the 5man party and only allow to Solo Q for Epic BGs, people can still Solo Q sync with each other and they still get in the same EBG together.
The possible solution is to allow Cross Faction Queueing, then at that point when they Q at the same time to sync, some of them will get on the Alliance and some will get on the Horde side. Then I think that might break the EBG communities, but before all of that happen, you guys just need to accept this fact and just join a community for EBG and play with others, you’ll find that it is more fun than Solo Qing.
I agree with you until here. That definitely won’t break the communities, but will make it more interesting for sure.
Personally I find queuing premade vs pugs non stop every night to be incredibly boring. The pvp is not very challenging and it’s just too easy which makes it not fun. In premade vs pugs I rarely feel that I am being pushed to my limits in pvp. Solo queue is far more enjoyable because there isn’t a 95% chance of winning due to stacking a premade vs pugs.
That sucks.
Eh, considering how few teams there would be for ranked epic bgs, sketchy shenanigans would ensue.
Maybe a pug on their team took it?
I would probably solo burn towers/bunkers if a premade raid was rolling across the map and pushing the pug team back into their base.
Never. That would be like joining cheaters because Blizzard hasn’t managed to ban all the cheaters.
If I had to join one, I’d probably go with SPM. At least they’re nice to pugs. Usually.
