PVP gearing has been pretty miserable with the premades in BGs right now.
Crazy seeing this post… I posted about this way back in cata I think… good luck my wishes go with you.
The reason why it is a popular topic is because the PVP community keeps diminishing and as a result more than one game is disrupted.
When 3-4 games are disrupted that is when it causes a disruption for a large segment of players on all of the time zones that play WoW.
Yea, it was a thing going back to BC, but it never really took off like it has the past couple expansions. While they were always annoying, these days they impossible to avoid if you enjoy bgs.
Yep. I have already seen a few groups the past week. Thankfully enough players are in queue that the problem isn’t a huge deal atm.
Larger spike at the start of the expansion helps but it is going to be something that has to be addressed at some point.
Yea, it won’t take long. With rated starting up next week, bgs will start to quite down some. Thankfully it doesn’t take long to grind an honor set either.
Of course, but keep in mind that there will be returning players too that trickle in as the start of the season commences.
premades are ruining the bg. people will leave permenanely not to go till a new one. most people think it’s unfair.
Yep. Lots of players have simply quit doing epics because of how bad has been. As is, there are enough disruption and problems in bgs. Awful scaling, lop sided designs, matches started with to few players, matches with only one team having healers, etc. It’s expected that we’ll have good games and bad games, but the premade groups guarantee a loss and usually a massive waste of time as well.
i agree. the problem is the guild with the group. when i saw the leaderboard from bg from same server. i left. this is why i didn’t want to participate. so i dumped it not to go and take the 15 min deserter buff and switch new alt and try again without waiting.
Reminder for blizzard to include the solo ranked BG queue as a way to unlock the mage tower tints that require 10 RBG wins.
Lmao bad players what a complete loser.
I love that their reasoning for being a premade is they want the challange of facing other premades, but when you talk about having a separate queue where full 20/40 man groups can queue together and face others like them, it’s crickets.
Sounds just link those who twinked prior to XP off players broken out into their own queue and, miraculously, that queue died within weeks of its implementation because it was never about the challenge and all about the stomp.
Mercenary (solo only) queues are a thing in many games for obvious reasons.
You’re saying they’re not grouping pre-BG but synchronizing queueing to get into the same pug bg, rather than a premade bg which they would get if they grouped via the leader?
Yeah, that is kinda heiny-ish. I haven’t liked BGs for a long, long time, but back when I did, my raiding guild would do some for fun after raids, and it was always a steamroll. (this was way back in vanilla, way before the premade-vs-premade change went in, to date myself here.)
I don’t imagine the other side enjoyed it much when a Thunderfury-equipped main tank in full cutting edge tier gear with raid healers was supported by full tier mages and rogues who could easily kill two or four regular players at a time. (combat swords forever!!!111)
Yea, it’s unfortunate, but it’s the best thing to do. I have wasted so much time trying to wait around because I didn’t want to lose my 30 minute+ RSS queue.
Spot on. It’s never about actually having competitive PVP. They say it’s about friends playing with friends or w/e, but I have joined these communities and no one knows anyone. Those communities spam Tich chat all the time.
It’s exactly the same mentality as the twink players, though the twinks were a bit more delusional. A lot of them believed they were actually good players and the gear was only a minor part of their amazing skill. I guess some of the premade defenders have made some similar arguments in this thread. Regardless, these players enjoy ruining the game for others. That’s where their fun comes from. Makes no sense to me.
They are grouping up in 5 man parties. Then the leader of each of those parties will queue at the same time. So you have a chance of 8 people queueing and 40 people getting into the same bg.
In vanilla and BC, their were addons that helped. While you could queue with raids, there was something with the battlegroups that made getting groups in more difficult, so they had ways to queue sync.
Playing with a 5 man is still fine by me, but the great than 5 groups really make winning anything impossible.
I wouldn’t even allow that. There WAS structured 5 v 5 PVP, if people want to queue as a 5 man party there should be an option for that.
Oh, yeah, no, '04 era PVP was awful. People were pissed that pugs had to fight geared out pre-mades and the only excuse for it was that, to be entirely fair, people who were serious about PVP and wanted to hit rank 14 needed that open feeding trough of honor that was Arathi Basin with a premade group geared out from BWL and higher raids fighting a PUG that was in mostly blues.
