Predictions looking at the new tree

Maybe that’s why I don’t understand your point cause I don’t remember how class played so all your pointers are vague to me without going deep into spell and mechanics. All i know is BM and SV played similarly in my mind cause they used pets and shot things with abilities and abilities had different color shots.

…you prefer melee combat? Based on your previous comments, you seem to be someone who doesn’t care much for the ranged aspects of the class.

The problem is that this is based on modern philosophies, what came with Legion, where there can be no class, only spec identity. One thing they’ve since moved away from, partially. Were there some overlaps in the past, like pets? Yep, because that was intended by design, based on how we were playing a class with a coherent core fantasy.

If you look at WoD, there were really no overlaps in terms of core fantasies. All specs shared more or less the same talent setup, but again, this was by design, based on philosophies that since then have changed. Saying that the specs were too similar, based on modern philosophies, is a fallacy, because they could have just done the same to RSV as they did with all other specs in order for it to also fit with said change in philosophies of class and spec design.

You can apply this to literally any spec in the game. This is not an argument suited to justify the removal of a spec from the game. If it was, why do Mages still have 3 spellcaster specs with different colors?

Warlocks? 3 specs that use demons to varying degree, and cast spells with different colors.

Why do Rogues still have 3 dual wielding specs that are based on energy, Combo point-builders and finishing moves, and stealth?

Why do Warriors still have both Arms and Fury?

I agree with you on everything besides I prefer melee, I feel like I like them evenly to the point I weapons swap and use Arcane Shot losing out on my raptor strike and kill shot DPS in PVP and casual PvE content where i need kite and try heal up. I tend to lean towards hybrid classes as I played Druid for longer than I did with a death knight, warrior, and monk but played Hunter off and on for rp of the pets and its a fun ranged class. But yea I don’t remember survival hunter too well before the change to melee i picture it like BM without the exsotic pets and when they shot things there fire and boom but it didnt stand out to me.

We’re all different, and we tend to focus on different things. It’s the same here.

When you look at the class from back then, comparing it to other classes, and base it all on the philosophies we went with, the class was perfectly fine.

Ofc it wouldn’t be if it was the same today, but with these new philosophies still in place. But again, that’s not what we’re arguing. That would be a moot point to have in a discussion.
