Preach speaks for me

I’ve never met Preach. I’ve never even heard of his existence until this past year.

But, I share his views on Covenants and Soulbinds 100%. “Meaningful choice” is literally the de-facto dumpster-fire phrase, going into Shadowlands.

To all those who are against Covenant swapping, I ask you: why do you care so much about how others want to enjoy the game? The “high-end” community as you call us, literally, does not care what you do with your time, in game.

Very, very interesting. Thank you for your input.

Can I just not care and play the game? is that possible? That’s what I’m going to do.

I HATE that swapping specs is so convenient. I’ve never made a character with the intent to play the class, but rather I’ve always made the character to play the spec.

It affects me because…

-My choice to remain with one becomes shallow and meaningless.
-If swapping is the norm, it will be expected of me and I don’t like two of the four covenants that exist. It would suck to have to be them for a time.
-If swapping was the norm, Blizzard would tune their content to require it.

That said, I’d be fine with covenant swapping if those who want to stick with one also got a benefit for doing so. That way our choice to remain loyal would be meaningfully justified.

they should tune the content with the best possible setups in mind otherwise the content will have a low ceiling and wel be bored in just a few weeks and then whatever covenant choice we made wont matter anyway cuz itl all be warfront tier difficulty

Who cares?

Uh… same question to you? I couldn’t give a rat’s about you or anyone else, I like the system the way it is now because it sounds fun for me. And I’d bet your answer would be the same.

Yall have some strange idea that everyone else is out to get you and we personally want to ruin YOUR game experience.

It’s already shallow and meaningless.

No it wouldn’t. Also, grow up.

They are going to do this either way so not an argument.

Thank you for your thoughts OP, it’ll be filed under, ‘‘Cared enough to reply, not enough to give a damn’’.

You certainly can, although if you don’t care then I think you might be fine if OP got their way.

having 3-4 mains is the new meta in SL I guess. Because how dare someone enjoy playing all specs and doing all types of content on their main.

Wrong he speaks for the cash!

If it isn’t the norm they have to tune their content to not be good for any covenant over others. Imagine how bland the raid fights will be.

You first. The tantrum you guys are throwing over covenants is childish, and frankly tiring at this point.

More than welcome to show where I’m throwing a “tantrum.”

Just a byproduct of the people throwing tantrums invalidating their orignal feedback imo

I enjoy his content. I don’t think he speaks for me, or anyone else. He has his opinion on the game just like we all do. Disagreeing or agreeing with it is fine.

What’s getting annoying is the personal attacks on him, and one another about all of this. It’s a game. I get you are passionate about it but if blizzard messes something up or makes a choice its not some guy on the forums fault, or Preach’s fault. Stop attacking with personal things. It’s childish.

I love preach but he doesn’t speak for me on this…It should be a meaningful choice and blizz is doing the right thing…And sticking to their guns on this. It’s not supposed to be something you can swap back n forth at any time.

So this. I want to pick the covenant that makes thematic sense to my race/class. The only, and I do mean only way swapping covenants would negatively affect me would be if I was expected to be Kyrian or Venthyr, or even Night Fae on this lock. I only really like Night Fae and Necrolords, and both of those are entirely dependent on which character I’m playing. As long as I can pick what I want and do well enough I could really care less if other people switch theirs up.

Also I’ve realized I don’t seem to fit into this who “min/maxing vs casual” ongoing debate. I’m pretty casual, LFR hero and all that, overwhelmingly solo. But I do min/max at least to a degree. I don’t run sims, but I know good azerite when I see it and read up on my class on icy veins. Not doing that would feel like gimping myself, but taking it to spreadsheets would feel too serious, so neither camp really speaks for me.
