Pre-Purchase the World of Warcraft®: The War Within™ 20th Anniversary Collector's Edition

We should be able to get a refund back too our CC…its bull they say they can’t do that now…and I don’t need $90 dollars sitting in my bnet balance …can’t buy the recurring sub packages when they come out with it …I already have my sub going into next year from recurring subs and RAF added 6 months worth of subs to my sub I have now…

120% agreed! They really should email us the digital codes or, better yet, just grant our accounts access immediately if you log into the gear store with your battlenet account like most folks do.

This is such a convoluted, customer-unfriendly, archaic system of granting physical CE buyers their digital copies of the game, but I’ve been beating that particular dead horse for years now. =( At least the automated system is better than what they offered before?

Sadly I doubt Blizzard will ever change the system from what it is now, as they have no motivation to do so. They’ve made an automated system that essentially nets them an extra $90 from their most dedicated fans for every expansion going forward. Why would they opt to give that up? =/

What gets me back during Legion when they brought out that first Recurring Sub package with a mount…the Ship mount I was able to buy it with my Bnet Balance…the next one that came out and onward …don’t remember which one it was they had put a stop to using Bnet balance to buy Recurring subs…

I thought that if you bought the 6/12 month recurring subs and paid with cash at least that first time, that you could then pay with bnet balance going forward to extend the time indefinitely, without ever needing to pay with a credit card ever again, and still getting the rewards. Did they change that? =(

This!!! omg this.

Why can’t people who pre-ordered a collector’s edition have their account updated the second the system takes their money.

The system should show that they bought the next xpac and grant them access on launch day without having ot worry about a shipped box.

Yep they stopped it…can’t use Bnet balance to buy recurring subs anymore …haven’t been able too since the change after Legion one …

We should be able to buy pay the difference between the Epic Pre Order many of us have already brought and pay the $90 difference and get the Statue and other goodies shipped to us without them dumping my $90 onto my bnet balance…

When are you showing the Horde version we can buy?

I can’t tell you how excited I was for this. No offense but nope. I really feel like Blizzard’s been slacking in what they put in there. No sountracks? No Cross game goodies? Artwork? Map? More pins? Can’t justify the price bump. If you compare this to the other ones in the past, something has changed and not for the better.

I can ship something from Canada to Argentina for less than the 100$ Blizzard is Charging for this

Blizzard has always jacked up shipping to Canada

you dont need to buy the sub though, you would buy game time, but I 100% agree i would honestly rather have the 90$ back in my hands too!

as long you have an active 6 or 12 month sub on your account, YES you can just buy game time for as long you want and it gets used before they would charge your 6 or 12 month sub to your card.

Because face it, tons of people who buy CE will absolutely shell out for the digital version as well at full price. So they’d be leaving money on the table not to do this given how well it’s traditionally worked. Blizzard will as usual offer to convert the cost of their $90 expac purchase to a free character boost or what have you at some later point via redemption of the CE physical code for that. So it’s just free money for Blizzard to do this. They figure those who spring for this are in for penny so they’ll be in for a pound. Certainly this time it’s a bit more brutal as it used to be you could spend for the $60 version of the game which was actually the same price as a boost. Maybe they’ll they’ll credit the difference with a $30 digital balance, maybe. Or maybe they’ll say that’s just the price of early admission.

Still say Blizzard could have some very great thanks if they would refund the difference back to the players CC if said player already has the digital expansion already paid for…

Yes i know I can buy some monthly game time but I don’t want too do that…I have no need to transfer any characters to other realms…the only thing that the Bnet Balance is good for is if new Mounts or Battle pets show up on the Game Shop…which means my $90 dollars could sit there for months before I have a use for it…when if its credited back to my CC or Debit card I can buy clothes or food or other things I need.

Thats nothing. I ordered it from the EU store to ship to the US and the shipping plus tax ended up with me paying 397 Euros = $423. I cried as I swiped my credit card.

What if i just come get the statue? How much for it, then?

Question now …why order from EU store and not the US store?

I bought the Collector Edition (CE), but I haven’t received any of the in-game stuff, does that come when War Within launches or when the CE’s are delivered? This is my 1st time buying a CE for WoW and would like to know if anyone can help? Thank you!

It was my first as well. My GF got one previously and told me that she got her box weeks after the game’s release, but I think she also said she got a code prior to release? I don’t remember.

Honestly though, they need to write this nonsense out and explain how it works before you can buy it.

Assuming it works like it has since Cata (my first CE) you’ll get a code in the box that will grant the highest product level of The War Within, which in this case would be the Epic Edition.

Prior to the Gear Store doing the distribution, I tended to get my copy the day of release or the day before, but shipping is fickle and would depend on the retailer.

For Dragonflight which was only from the Gear Store, they shipped slightly earlier. According to my FedEx tracking number (somehow still active after 2 years) they shipped on Nov 5, 2022 and I received it in Canada on Nov 7, 2022. Dragonflight launched on Nov 28, so I had it 21 days before launch. That does not mean it will follow the same pattern this time, but it’s the best info I can give.
