Pre-patch probably isn’t happening until 8/16 or 8/23. We may get XP increase and dungeon nerfs 7/12 or 7/19.

Source, server consolidation on Aug 9 from Blizzard blue post. So it will be the following week or the next before pre-patch because some characters from the server consolidation are not playable until then.
I agree, this sounds accurate.
Doubt they’ll worry about that for prepatch, people have had a long time to transfer, if they didn’t they’re likely not even active accounts.
They most definitely will.

Why would they? They gave them over a month’s warning, delaying prepatch 2 weeks past the 9th because of that would be silly.
Cause I doubt Blizzard would just say screw you to their customers.

Customers that aren’t even likely paying? Like if you’re sitting there right now not transferring, that’s on you.

They’ve had an announcement out for over a month already, if they haven’t transferred they likely aren’t paying or just aren’t playing.
Well, we know what would happen if you were running the classic project at blizzard. But… i really dont think blizzard will take that same approach.
I think prepatch will be the day of the server closure honestly. Makes the most sense, bring some servers down, fire new ones up, prepatch.
