Pre patch! pre patch! pre patch!

It’s not just the end of the pvp season anymore, M+ season is ending with prepatch too and moving into post season.

The pre-patch maintenance window will be around 8 hours long.

Why would we get the pre-patch unannounced?

2 More weeks.

9.0.1 hasn’t even been pre-downloaded yet.

Other reasons are probably related to the pre-patch though.

  • Prepare and test the patch download.
  • Prepare for end of PVP and Mythic+ season.
  • Database Optimization.
  • Adding fields to the database.
  • Pre-loading shadowlands content into the live databases.
  • Probably dozens of other reasons.

While not agreeing or disagreeing with your supposition here I would like to note that this type of statement is what leads to bad releases in all types in games.

I’m sorry BFA has been a disappointment for you, please don’t push to start Shadowlands off badly.

Nope. It is most likely the DL for the pre-patch which, based on previous experience, will not go live for at least another two weeks.

Clue 1) they have not yet announced the end of the current PvP season
Clue 2) They have two more SL shorts to get through

So while today’s maintenence may include the FL for pre-patch, the event itself will not go live for at least another two weeks.

Eh, I’ve been in beta for a long time, I’ll take that over bfa now

Wasn’t there a really maintenance a couple weeks ago? I think that’s when the pre patch came out.

Are you saying Shadowlands is actually in good state, or just that you would take an unfinished state?

Not trying to be argumentative, just wondering.

Am thinking pre-patch will be hitting 9/29.

BFA is finally mostly fine now. I’d rather wait two more months in BFA than spend two years hating Shadowlands.

Don’t get me wrong: BFA will go down in infamy as one of the worst debacles in Blizzard’s history. But if someone began playing it today, most of the really egregious issues would not exist for them.

Push Shadowlands back to December.

There’s bugs, but even with bugs i’d take it over what we have now.

Considering there is a migraine inducing bug when you travel to one of the main zones, I am going to believe they mean the second choice.

HAHAHA
This is gold

Exactly. Though my guess is we’ll get the announcement today

Too early to say such stupid sh*t.

You should be banished for even thinking that.

Calm down. They probably need the time due to the recent realm connections. We’re not getting 7 weeks of prepatch event.

there are plenty of other reasons for a four hour maintenance. prepping for more realm connects for one. or they could be updating some back end stuff to prepare for the prepatch. there are likely other reasons that i, not being a tech savvy individual, would not know.

it’d be bad practice for them to spring the pre patch on us without any sort of notice. yes, everyone should have already done what they need to before the end of BfA, but some of us procrastinate. Also, the cloak resistance max is reached today. i believe they said we’d have some time to play with the cloak at its max resistance (i could be wrong on that).

Also, the prepatch event is staggered over four weeks. the 29th is our best bet for prepatch. maybe the 22nd. four weeks of new stuff each, and maybe a week of down time to prep and/or recharge is what i’m thinking.

and honestly, i didn’t hate BfA the way it seems some have. was the grinding a PITA? heck yes, but over all, I always enjoy the game more than not. but i am super hyped for SL and can’t wait for it to come out. still need to do some things to prep, but those are things i can do any time, and will likely do them a couple days before launch.
