Oh I doubt it will last longer then 2 months but clearly blizzard sees it as a threat.
man i hope they dont!!!
If I was Blizzard I’d view it as a threat even if NW only lasts two months. If you have people leave for 2 months there’s going to be a percentage that just won’t come back. It’s also a bad time because it seems like the overall sentiment towards Blizzard has changed and many other MMO offerings are here or are on the immediate horizon.
There will be some people who will stay in NW.
There will be some that decide to give FFXIV a chance.
There will be some that might like Lost Ark.
There will be some that will take a break and wait for Ashes, Pantheon, or the Riot MMO.
If I was Blizzard I’d want people logging in every day and staying invested. To me, it seems like they’re in a worse position than they have been in the past. The feeling of WoW inevitability has quickly disappeared.
“(insert newly-releasing MMORPG here) IS A THREAT TO WOW AND IS GOING TO KILL WOW!!”
gee, where have I heard this before
oh yeah
every new mmo release from 2007-2021
lmao
idk man, I’d usually be with you on that profits.
But my feeeeeeels are different this time around lol. I know, it’s highly scientific. I guess time will tell.
I mean, I’m no amazon fan but there’s plenty of ACTUAL bad shiz they do that you hardly need to make up stuff
You understand that Amazon in general doesn’t care about New World AT ALL, much less potential competitors rofl. Bezos isn’t sitting in his office concocting ways to bring Blizzard down…
ALL of Activision is worth ~60Billion. Amazon is worth almost 2 TRILLION. They’re not even in the same galaxy… Wow is a big chunk of Blizzard’s revenue so they HAVE to care about it. Its their entire Raison D’etre… Amazon hasn’t successfully released a game yet because they’re just dabblers. If they accidentally make a good game cool… but if it looks like it’s not gonna be profitable they’ll axe it in 3 months and never look back
Be nice to see all the retail WoW players & console game types go to New World where they can twitch & spaz to their heart’s content.
Continue reading the original post and don’t take a single component out of context because it’s only a guess; later you see that I think it’s just typical Blizz being foolish and cryptic / lazy, also Amazon is the money, the development team is not comparable to Amazon even if related. All venture have the duty to be responsible and maximize effective ROI, at least that’s the idea. This is why Amazon is successful in business because they diversify and min-max effectively.
I’m interested to see what a game made by actual software engineers looks and plays like.
ROFLMAO. I know what you’re trying to say - and I know the correct terms for it … and the way you said it is just oh so laughable.
It’s called Lean Agile.
htt ps://www.cbsnews.com/news/amazons-patent-for-caging-workers-was-a-bad-idea-exec-admits/
I handled the patent personally in my line of work. No need to apologize.
The Dev team has has 2 projects before this. Breakaway was in development for 4 years before being canceled. Crucible was in development for 6+ years before releasing last march. It was reverted back to Beta one month later after a complete disaster of a launch… and was canceled a couple months after.
So sure, zoom in on the specific studio and ignore Amazon. That just makes it even worse… Maybe it’ll work out eventually… but it’s hardly the company I’d put all my hopes in…
All I gotta say is … KEK
They shoulda just went with machines. Cheaper. Complain less. All have the pronoun “IT”. Work 24/7. Don’t try to form unions. Don’t spread covid amongst eachother.
I HIGHLY doubt that. Becuase if you did you’d know that it was a patent to PROTECT WORKERS as they were moved through areas with robotic equipment. Framing it like they were trying to patent a cage to imprison workers is disengenous at best. I’d guess you saw the article on your crazy uncles Facebook page without reading it and now you’re doubling down with made-up credentials. How embarrassing for you…
Amazon (among others) is wildly successful because they engage in predatory behavior, manipulation & exploitation across fronts too numerous to list here. But, that is the sociopathic, corrupt, normalized system that is worshipped & celebrated here - at least until the house comes crashing down because it isn’t sustainable.
But just think of the possibilities bearhands.
You’re killing some conquistador zombies or w/e with your bros and you’re speaking with them in game. The AI detects from your speech that you’re hungry. ALEXAMASTERAI determines that you’d enjoy a Amazon Pizza. After instantly cross checking that you’re not on THE LIST Amazon sends you a pizza with the new Bezos meat substitute and subtracts 20k Bezos cryptofunbux from your Alexa Federal Bank e-wallet™. The pizza is good, and you’re happy to know that you’ll only need to spend another 6 hours in the associate fulfillment pod to avoid disconnection of your mother’s Amazon Kidney Live Service.
Google the company reed technology. But please, move the goalposts more. The specification for the patent had nothing about protecting workers. It was about moving them more efficiently to items to be retrieved from the warehouse, and had timers as to when it would open up for bathroom breaks and such. The safety issue was post public-outrage damage control.
You’re just throwing out random buzzwords now, you have no idea what you’re talking about. Please stop rofl, I feel bad.
You should feel bad. You moved the goalposts from “Your making it up” to “They only did it for safety! (company line) and your making up handling it”. Now your just avoiding the point.
Plus Bezos meat contains a healthy mix of chemicals to keep you docile and complacent so you’re a more productive worker in the Bezos labor caves.
