Potions/flasks

I returned to pvp this xpac after taking off many years from pvp game play. Years ago flasks were allowed in random bgs but i noticed now you cannot use a max lvl flask in a bg i get an error in big red letters you cant do that in a bg. My question is if i cannot use a flask as a dps booster why am i allowed to use a max lvl healing potion? Both can change the outcome of a pvp situation. Just curious whats the reason for one being allowed now and one is forbidden?

There are 2 PVP flasks you can use, Vicious flask of honor and vicious flask of the wreckingball. For Potions you can use Saltwater potions or the Warmode Consumables like Electric Shock and Web Pull which share the same 5min cd.

You can also use engineer items.

My question is why are some allowed now and some are not? In the past it was all allowed potions for dps, potions for healing, parachute cape, rocket boots, glider kits, Flasks, and now only certain items are limited and others are not? Why? Either limit them all in random bgs or allow them all. Whats allowed in pvp now is like a bag of trail mix someone picked and chose from.

One day they just stopped working without notice. They must’ve disabled the PVE flask and Potions in PVP for some reason.

This game is a complete gong show when they allow these silly items into the game.

Last expansion was an item you would throw with a 20 yard radius that after a few seconds would pull everyone in that radius to the center of it. Teams would do this, sometimes stringing them together, pinning a team in 1 single spot where you could aoe huge groups of people

I would time it on my boomy with my warrior friend to pull everyone in, he would spear everyone then I would beam. basically an entire team stuck in a spear beam. This isn’t fun gameplay

Not only that, you could have multiple people do it. Get hit by 3+ of these in a single team fight is insanely toxic, you completely lose control of your character (on top of barely playing your character as it is)

They also had a grenade you would throw and after a few seconds would swap your location with it. People used this to get to areas you aren’t supposed to be in. You could run around the top cliff of deepwind gorge, sit on top of the flag room in an area you aren’t supposed to be able to get to in WSG, run along the hills in the out-of-bounds area in twin peaks - you could run the flag up there, but the other team couldn’t get to you or attack you

Introducing these items into the game was likely thought of as fun, but in PvP they’re ridiculous. They made them ineligible for a reason. But if you think sure, you can just disable those 2, then you’re already going against the “allow everything”. I think they’re going for using PvP items/flasks in PvP and PvE stuff in PvE but, as usual with this company, it’s very poorly implemented and not even half complete

This expansion has been the PvP item you use to knock people into outer space. We don’t need more of these

Cleaning up old posts!

I think they just wanted to make the Vicious flasks the “official” pvp flasks. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing except they never said anything about it.

They mad changes to nerf consumable stacking.
A lot of consumables were put on a shared cooldown and then they introduced pvp specific flasks that are cheaper to produce but don’t work in pve to try and level the playing field a bit.

Dragonflight consumable stacking was pretty out of hand.

I couldn’t agree with you more from the dumpster fire i have seen in pvp lately.

Looking forward to Midnight World PVP Consumables, I hope we get a new batch.

Now they just need to remove all that garbage in world pvp. Tired of getting ganked by people with 2 full lines of buffs. As soon as you’re flagged as being in combat in pvp, the system should temporarily pause all buffs not related to pvp. We have too many no lifers running around exploiting quest buffs and consumables in world pvp.

While we’re at it, fix whatever it is people are doing that allows them to zone out when they are losing a fight in wpvp. I hate it when some player attempts to gank me, gets wrecked, then zones out at the last second. They earned a good death and should be forced to except it. Some of these are que pops but definitely not all of them. I had a guy gank me while multi boxing 2 ret pallies that would zone them out the minute either one of them ran out of cd’s. there is a lot of dumb stuff happening in this game that shouldn’t be tolerated. I love wpvp, but come on man…. People will abuse anything.

Agreed 100%.. The PVP “honor toys” made everything worse for the pugs and the LOL for the premades 100 times worse.. Now any class can be invisible whenever they want, can run fast without engineering, can blow half a team off the cliff at hangar i mean these pvp toys are so unbelievably stupid, its staggering.. Its like blizz devs - “Well, we don’t give a damn about epic regs and were not going to do anything to fix the premade situation; but you know what? Lets make the situation far worse and add some asinine pvp toys and make everything into a clown circus, slow motion calamity train-wreck for the casual players.” - I mean its clear that the devs, or decision makers at blizz, don’t play pvp and are totally out of touch with the game they’re making pvp toys for..

I think that paladins should not be allowed to attack at all while they are immune. Its really stupid no other class can be completely immune to all damage while wrecking your toon. Thats not PVP or Player vs Player when one is essentially in god mode for 8 secs or whatever it is while the other has to take damage.

same, but also fearing the next electric shock / grav displacer that just makes battlegrounds miserable when you fight a team that spams them.

Another thing thats really absurd is that there are premaders who camp in Tanaan Jungle and will farm these fruit things or eggs on the shoreline area that grant 5% stat for 10 minutes and can be brought into non-rated BGs. As if being a premade isn’t an unfair advantage enough, they need these fruits that should morally fade off when entering a bg just as stat flasks do.

For a bit I was going all Yautja on these abusers in the jungle but now I’m getting bored of it. I don’t plan on playing Midnight but I would hope they patch this cringe cheat for the next xpac anyways, just so it can tell us that they do notice little exploits being abused and end up fixing it.

There are still some people who collect any and all damage buff (that works) before entering epic BGs plus have a healbot or two healing them or they won’t play. They are often the most toxic players in the mode. I respect solo only players more than them.

I generally assume that any new item/talent that’s introduced into this game only has to have 1 condition met to be added:

“Is the negative debuff that’s applied from this item/talent on an enemy player fun for the person who uses it?”

If yes → add it in

There’s no second condition of “does this ruin gameplay for everyone else?”

The inviso thing is way out of control it used to be fun as a rogue or a druid but when rogues can stealth an entire team thats not fair and makes it hard to call incs in flag capturing bgs like Gil neas and Arathi Basin. Also on that note the spectral sight of demon hunters needs to be fixed as in it needs to work like a hunters flare 10-15 yards of sight not everything 100s of yards out and or it needs a longer cd than 25 secs. Literally ruins the experience of playing a feral druid or rogue.

Probably someone crying about not being able to afford an “advantage” in PvP

Meanwhile every other professions crafts work

a bit silly considering solo queueing as something like mage or hunter is a lot different than solo queueing as a class that’s a lot more reliant on competent healers.
