It’ll be hard to break away from that ideology. And that statement doesn’t make it any more agreeable as to WHY I should be willing to accept a Bard over something more inviting and more fitting in WoW’s setting, especially if it were to happen anytime soon than the overly used ideas like Tinkers or Necromancers as a new class. What is so unique to a Bard that Blizzard would put a spin on?
Sorry, but no. People asking for Tinker are asking because it was in WC3. People asking for Bard are probably like me and have seen the little glimpses that just say “maybe” to something like “music magic” in WoW (there have been signs, just like there have been for previous things that have been added to the game).
Do you mean like Monks? Because those TOTALLY represented WoW before they were added. roll eyes
Sorry, THAT is a terrible reason NOT to add something.
I suspect that Tinker is the number one idea for a new class, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Bard was number two. It’s been talked about for years, there are plenty of ways to make it more than a support class, and they’ve been dropping hints about music being “something” more in Shadowlands.
Considering the next expansion is rumored to be a sort of “soft reset” of WoW, there’s no telling what kind of a world we are coming back to, and “music magic” could 100% be a thing in this “new Azeroth”.
I mean, if people are thinking we might be able to play as Dragons, why not believe you can set a monster on fire with the power of music?
Bard is my first pick, especially if it uses ranged weapons.
I don’t even think it has to be a support class either. 2 DPS 1 heals would work just fine. DPS could have one spec use DD sonic attacks and another spec that uses dots, dirges, shadowy banshee screams, etc. One or both could have illusionary pets. Heals would be rather self-explanatory.
Ew no. You could not be more wrong.
I probably ask for Tinkers more than anyone else on these forums, I want them because They’re in the WarCraft RTS.
And they’re all over World of WarCraft as NPCs.
Uh, Chen Stormstout was a major Warcraft hero before WoW even released, and the Monk class is largely based on him. He also hailed from Pandaria, which was full of Pandaren Brewmasters like himself.
Additionally, we had Monks in WoW long before MoP. The problem is that there isn’t a Bard hero in Warcraft, and we never see Bards in WoW running around fighting monsters or against us anywhere in the game.
I like support classes (not healers) but I don’t think it’d really work in WoW.
Bards are too casual for war.
It doesn’t have to be support class.
I think there can be 2 specialization
1 for dps and 1 for healing
For dps maybe it can be like the ETC in hero of the storm
He was created as a joke.
TWICE.
Monks were NOT part of the Warcraft universe originally. They were shoehorned in after someone ran with a joke.
