Absolutely absurd I can’t protect my account because I live in an area (interior Alaska) that doesn’t have post paid phones as the local service provider. we literally are only offered pre paid phones here. not only can I NOT attach an authenticator. I can’t play overwatch 2 with my friends and family back home. I have been serving 12 years active army and this is just crazy to me. I can go to a rundown shack in Iraq and buy a phone and play the game…but can’t even play with a phone number I’ve had for 8 years from a local source. blizzard wants money to stay afloat but cuts off players in remote areas. Now I’m being punished for being stationed in a remote area. the crazy thing is one of my accounts literally can play every game. And it’s on the same cell provider as my second account that is being blocked. seems ridiculous to me. as sad as it sounds at least Fortnite doesn’t punish the armed forces for where they are. definatly be unsubbing from all 4 of my wow accounts and be looking for a new game to play. i mean i doubt elden ring requires a phone number
It’s the number, not the provider, that’s flagged.
to continue on to this…i removed my phone number from my account …thats been on it for 8 years…and now i cant reattach it as its being flagged the same way. its certainly a blizzard issue
I’m not too sure what error you’re receiving, but the post paid requirement was removed long ago now.
So here’s a support article for one error that you might be receiving at least:
Please enter a post-paid phone number…this is the message i get when putting my number in my account settings. this post definitely shouldn’t have been marked solved as its still saying it and that link wasn’t at all helpful
That’s certainly odd. That requirement, for pre-paid cell plans, was removed a while back as I mentioned before.
You’re not using a VOIP number or something like that are you?
Make sure none of the other restrictions match your situation too:
In that case, it is the FCC who determines if a number is set to pre or post paid and your carrier would be the ones who need to contact the FCC to have it changed.
i had the same phone and number attatched to my account for years and years. the issue only came up after unattaching then trying to reattach my number. i put in a few tickets but blizzard told me there isnt an issue. i can protect my account so im just going to find another game to play that actually works
Best of luck wherever your gaming takes you Demynthia.
