Posting Requirement: Level 10+ Character

What a silly change.
The level of the posting character has zero to do with the validity of a post.
This change is not going to do a single thing to prevent trolls and/or useless posts.

I never understood shadow alts. Blizz knows who you are; they be banning the whole account for a real threat.

What were they afraid to be found in wowland? "Oh, you’re that guy on Sunday who made the that [insert troll topic] thread.

If anything they should make 120 to post. Would eliminate the, so like where is the AH in New Dal?

But the real issue is for me: This forum requires a sub. Reddit and Twitter don’t. Yet that is where devs go. Granted it might have feedback from people who play RPGs just not WoW, yet those are not your consumers. They have no vested interest., but alas, I sound the fool.

Been seeing plenty of posts from level 2 to 8 today, so this feature seems to not be working.

this is closest i could get to a shadow alt

This is a super reasonable requirement! I feel like it can help prevent spam in some way.

Why not take it a step further and make our bnet tags our forum names or limit us to one forum avatar?
There is a lot of alt brigading going on.

Edit to add: Alt brigading stifles discussion, skews input, and can influence people’s decision to comment.

New players - as in new customers - should be able to talk to the community.

I think it’d prolly make more sense to change it so that the character posting has to have been recently active in game, and have a valid armory profile, rather than simply being level 10.

I think it makes more sense to use our btag names than allow multiple forum avatars.
At the very least put the btag name (minus the number like the other forums) on everyone’s toons so we can see when people are switching avatars.
Simple fix to all this alt brigading we have going on in here.
It won’t stop trollin but I bet it would cut down on some of it.
Instead of allowing people to hide behind multiple avatars and influence discussions.

What happen too all my posts on this toon…it says 34 now …I have been posting here since 2008…I had over thousands and thousands of posts, they are all gone now…what is up with that.

I fail to see the point of this with regard to discussion. A person’s argument should be the focus, not the person sharing it.

^^ was my thought . Pretty much the same thing.

Hey I am a level 20 Lightforged Draenei lets see if i can post.

So yea if you actually want people to level 10 levels to be able to post then it should be level 30 shouldn’t it cause make any allied race and you instantly can post.

Make it 21 to discourage those on a free trial. Otherwise a good change from troll-posters.

I don’t think this change will have any impact.

Leveling any character to level 10 is peanuts in today’s WoW. Those characters hold no more value to a player than a level 1 character does.

So, realistically, all this change has done is stalled anyone who potentially wants to use a shadow alt to troll. A few quests in a starting area, and bam, they’re level 10.

People are going to troll. Changing the level requirements for forum posting is not a constructive fix to that.

Good call. Needs more characters.

See this character - trial 100 - lvl 30 wouldn’t do it - however this isn’ t the reason for the change anyway. You can make 110 trials.

Many, many trolls can make characters that are higher than level 10.

Yea and when you have 50 available slots per account to use as avatars on the forums it creates a troll breeding ground and automatic safe space for them to hide.
Anyone think this helps or hinders good communication?

Seems to me eliminating the multiple avatar useage would go a lot further improving communication and clearing up some of this extra noise we are subject to because of the system itself.
