Post was removed, is there a way to see why?

I had a post discussing my thoughts on bringing back past rewards. It was admittedly a negative review of some recent design choices, but I kept things entirely civil and my points logical (not saying I’m right, simply outlining they were logical).

I got a notification saying it had been flagged for review and it sounded like I could potentially be banned? And I saw after the auto notification, it looked like one of the CM’s manually removed/unlisted the thread.

Is there a way to see why? Or perhaps it’s still pending review, and is just removed for the time being?

no otherwise you wouldnt be posting so you are not banned. it should say so in the notification. with unlisted threads maybe they might decide to take action at a later date. probably just looking through it if it got a lot of reports.

Generally speaking, we don’t provide details on why a post may be removed. Usually we hope that they can figure it out by reviewing our Code of Conduct.

While we sometimes remove a post because is may violate policy, other times we may remove it because it isn’t necessarily suited for our forums. It might be off topic, it might be argumentative, or overall become an unproductive discussion, etc…

The original notification would have indicated that enough users flagged it for a review because they felt it may violate the Code of Conduct. Yes, if that was deemed a violation of our policies it could earn a penalty.

Ultimately, the Moderator want to preserve the feedback while ending the active discussion happening, which may have been less productive. That is why they locked and unlisted it, so our Community Team and Game Developers could still see it.

I did want to note this from that post though:

Tyrael’s Charger is one I am still upset by. It was offered as the very first Annual Pass reward, having been introduced during the longest content drought in WoW’s history. A LOT of players subbed to get that mount.

I’m not sure if someone else mentioned it in that thread, but the Tyrael’s Charger mount you used as your example was originally from the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in France back in 2008. So if we considered that a one time only mount you would have never been able to receive it from the Blizzard Annual Pass promotion.

We are fairly conscious of the language used for various promotions, while many may assume it is an exclusive never to be seen item, it isn’t always.

As this is about forum moderation I’m going to lock it up, but I hope that helps.
