The guild I am an officer in is having some issues here, too.
Like Beteljuice, I am showing 12 people online (13, but I’ll get into that later), but a /who search for my guild shows 3. These characters, whether listed by /who or not are almost exclusively from our home realm of Medivh but a few may also be on Exodar with whom we merged years ago. None are from the recently merged Alleria or Khadgar.
Only about half of the players currently, correctly showing online bring up a tooltip when I hover over them in the roster, which I’ve never seen happen before.
I’m having trouble with one guildmember in particular, the 13th who is online. He’s my brother, but we are not on the same network (nor even the same state). There are no problems with our sister who is on the same network as our brother, in fact she’s even one of the 3 characters who shows up on a /who search.
Earlier my brother asked me if I was having issues with gchat. I tested it and determined that gchat was functioning normally for me. It was not for him.
We are not sure exactly when gchat ceased functioning for him, but he was chatting with another guildmate in gchat earlier this morning with no issue.
He was showing up correctly in the roster, so I was able to see if I could get things working for him by demoting him from his correct rank to a lower rank which has no gchat privileges, and then promoting him back to his correct rank.
This did not work. He then gquit and had me reinvite him. I was able to do so through the “ginvite” chat command with no issues, but when I went to repromote him, I found he is not in my roster.
I tried kicking him myself through the “gremove” chat command, and this worked fine. I again used the chat command to invite him. He again accepted and the message that he had joined displayed, but he still does not show in the roster.
He has relogged. He has restarted his client entirely. He still does not show in the roster, he does not have access to gchat. I have relogged, I still cannot see him in the roster.
Some guild functions (mail speed among guildmates) seem to be working for him, but others don’t. The Guild Finder UI tells him that he is not in a guild. He’s in this weird limbo place where he seems to be both in our guild and not.
Speaking with other guildmates, I’ve learned that our guild leader was having similar issues recently, where characters she invited were not displaying properly in the roster. It seems that relogs fixed most of those problems, but relogs have not addressed the issues happening today.
