Years ago (Legion was new), I had characters, had to stop because lack of money. This is currently WOW2.
Within the last year, I’ve tried seeing if I still liked it and so I did the trial, which created WOW1, which I then decided to subscribe with. I didn’t know how it worked at the time, thinking it was just a temporary thing that’d merge or share subscription/characters. Found out this isn’t the case, even though I have the mounts, I want my old characters back. Emotional, monetary, and progression investments and all that.
Found out WOW2 doesn’t share my current subscription with WOW1. So…may I please have the accounts merged?
Licenses cannot be merged. If you wish to have the characters from WoW2 on your WoW1 license, you will need to use the Character Transfer service.

Well, just tried and, because the main character I wanted to transfer had heirlooms on it, I can’t, unless I log onto the character and remove them, which I can’t do without a subscription, since they’re level 38, which defeats the purpose of the transfer from no-sub account → sub account.
Oh well.

You can submit a ticket to Blizzard and see if they can grant you enough game time so that you can remove the heirlooms.

Just explain to them that you need to log into the character(s) and remove heirlooms in order to ready them for a transfer.

Update: got a day of game time! Gonna sleep, then transfer and hope it works out (and it looks like it will).
The GM was quite nice as well.
