Blizzard recently said depending on how the community reacts to Augmentation Evokers they may add more support type specs into the game.
Paladins were the #1 support class, thats what we have always been known for, buffing, saving and enabling.
They have moved away from that aspect of our class identity.
I would assume that Paladins since all 3 specs have gotten nothing but bad feedback to get some sort of 4th spec.

I’d like Shammy and Pally to have support spec. Sadly they seem to cathegorise Supp spec into dps which I dont really like I’d prefer if they were healer or a category of their own
I know alot of people are suspecting that disc priest will be the next class reworked into a support if the augmentation expirement is successful.
Personally? I want to see outlaw rogue become a supporter, while it isn’t the exact same the whole gambling pirate vibe reminds me of Final Fantasy XI’s Corsair. So a gambling pirate buffer would absolutely be something im all for seeing.
2/3 of Paladin specs are amazing right now, and the last one is going to be amazing in four days. That’s a crazy statement.
That aside, I would love a paladin support spec (Please call it “Inspiration Paladin” blizz)
Primary buff, like Ebon Might, would be Greater Blessing of Kings, probably tied to Holy Power spenders for uptime. They could have additional buffs like Augmentation for tanks and healers, Blessing of Sanctuary, Blessing of Light, something like that, changed to be buffs with somewhat more interesting mechanics than “cast once every five minutes to an hour”. Most of our old blessings could find a place in the spec in some slightly altered way (augvokers already get something like our Blessing of Salvation).
It would be cool if their spec tree could give them more interesting interactions with Blessing of Sacrifice. I’d like to see options to change it from a pure external defensive into a mixed defensive/offensive ability (like with the Recompense talent) but geared specifically for the spec and its playstyle.
I personally agree that Holy will be god tier on tuesday, ret needs some number shifting, indont play prot so i wouldnt know personally, im just saying based on the fourms most of the post i see are complaints.
They brought back Mark of the Wild for druids, really feel like Blessing of Might or Blessing of Kings should never have been removed.
What in the world are you talking about 2 of the 3 specs for Paly are in a really good spot, and the third is getting a really nice workover no matter what the doom and gloomers say. All the experienced current and past high level holy players are excited. A couple of well known Holy players from years back have even repicked up the spec. So that will be 3 of 3 in a good spot or at least have a nice spot in one type of content or another.
Given that I am all for support specs. There are a few classes that could have some solid support specs super easy. A shielding and buffing paly spec. A time mage spec focused on haste for allys, slows for enemies, and a stagger time mechanic. An elemental totem spec focused on buffing elemental or adding elemental damage and increasing damage elemental damage taken (although sadly they removed most of the old elemental resistance and benefits long ago). Lot’s of easy wins.
A fourth spec that doubles down on Greater Blessing support and a ranged tool kit feels like something that could easily fit the Paladin aesthetic. Holy Paladins going crazy with Ashen Hallow in SL is something that many Hpals wish would come back to some extent. Rather than giving that to Hpal, they could possibly design a support spec around Blessings and ranged damage that Ashen Hpals were doing.
At the very least, Paladin has a long history of buffing other players beneficially. Maybe even Shaman could find a place in the Augmentation and Paladin niche?
Completely revamp Elemental spec to be a mid-range dps spec like Retribution Paladin, that uses both melee attacks and elemental spells. Then turn Enhancement into a support spec that uses endless totems
Enhancement used to be a good partial support spec. We had totems that would help our group. Paladins when we had seals I would use them to support my group. Then we were changed to just dps. Now they want to bring back support.
Personally Shamans should get a tank, Paladins should get a dw dps or ranged spec. That would be in my list.
If they want to give support to Shamans make enhancement help support melee and elemental support ranged have them buff those. Return blessings to paladins to give to classes like we used to have. Have holy paladins give support buffs to healers.
I’d actually install the game again if they ever came out with a sword and shield dps spec… Crusader spec.

To be honest. IMO I think only classes with healing specs should get a support spec. But I would prefer paladins get a DW melee spec not added to ret but its own spec. Or a ranged dps spec.
I would prefer Shamans get a Tank spec since we(Mained a Enhancement shaman for 4 expansions) have been asking since before I mained my Enhancement.
Holy paladin has a caster option now which is nice. But sounds like one ability is making us op. So it does need a tweaking. But you cant post on your main so I cant take you seriously
