Possible Incorrect S2 Key Scaling

Key Scaling

Key S1 S2
2 +10% (Bargain) 7% (Timer)
3 +21% 14%
4 +33% (Fort/Tyr) 23% (Bargain)
5 +46% 31%
6 +61% 40%
7 +77% (Peril) 50% (Fort/Tyr)
8 +95% 61%
9 +114% 72%
10 +136% (Tyr/Fort) 84% (Tyr/Fort)
11 +159% 102%
12 +185% (Guile) 122%? (Guile)
13 +214%
14 +245%
15 +280%

With the announced changes, the +12 and up keys were supposed to increase by 12% per key instead of [+10% base scaling + 10% additional], but it looks like they are doing [+7% + 12%].

The changes announced in the “Updates Ahead” show +11-12 going from +102% to 122% respectively.

(100%(Base)+102%(+11))x1.12(Guile)= 226%(overall)/+126%(key) [This should be the correct scaling based on the proposed changes]

Something doesn’t seem right.

Edit:

Looking closer at the “Updates Ahead” it stated that the +7% was only for +2-10 and +10% from +11 and up.

However, that now contradicts the Guile redesign of removing the +10% additional modifier in place of 12% base.

You want to post in either the dungeon raids scenario or the bug forums any feedback isnt collected here.

Seeing how a Mod from CS moved it here, I think this is the right place.

Its now in bugs.

Yeah that’s what I mean, they moved it here.

Perhaps the devs judged that the projected progression is bugged, and wanted your post in the form of a bug report.

Yeah I hope so. I think what caused the confused earlier was when I replied to Darth was right after they moved it to the Bugs sub when he posted right before they moved it when it was still in CS.

This bug won’t affect most players, but will make a huge scaling difference +12 and up.

The values going from +102% to +122% means that the values are actually 202% to 222%, which is an increase of roughly 10%.
202*1.12=226
So 126% would be a 12% increase.

but it also says above level 12 so maybe that doesn’t start until level 13.

?? How are you adding 100%? That’s not how it works.

It’s part of the affix. Look at how +12 and up scaled for S1. They did +10% base + 10% for the affix. The redesign for the affix is removing the +10% additional scaling and just bumping the base scaling from 10% to 12%, except now it should be going from 7% to 12%.

Because base is 100%. So the first is +7% putting it to 107% of base. Level 3 goes to +14%, increasing base from 107% to 114%, increasing total damage/health by 6.5%. 107 to 115 would be 7.5% so they rounded down

I’m looking at the 13 to 14 levels from 314% to 345%. 9.87% increase.

Edit: You are right that the overall value of the key itself is 107%, but what I’m trying to discuss is the +modifier of the key itself.

They forgot that they redesigned Guile to not add a 2nd layer of tuning and instead replace the key level scaling from +10% (Now +7%) to +12%.

So +12 should be 126%, not the 122%. I was wrong in the OP, I’ll correct that.

Yes, you were right here, but if it started after +12, then even if we did 7% from +11 to +12 their number is still wrong.

202*1.07=216% or +116%

Looks like they did +10% for +11 to +12.

202*1.1=222 or +122%.

Edit: Looks like they have to clarify if they are keeping the original redesign of Guile removing the +10% in place of the +12% base scaling or keeping the “Updates Ahead” and the 10% for +11 and up.

What’s confusing me are these conflicting statement.

  • From Mythic 2 through 10, each new level will now increase the health and damage of enemies by 7%, down from the previous 10%. Per-level scaling will remain at 10% for Mythic 11 onwards.
  • At Mythic 12, instead of an additional 10% increase to enemy health, Xal’atath’s Guile will now include the increased timer penalty for deaths that was formerly part of Challenger’s Peril, as a replacement for the rotating Bargain affixes. While the mechanic could feel overly punishing for groups still learning and progressing towards gear rewards, a focus on clean execution remains appropriate for the upper echelons of the system, and removing the extra 10% stats should make the transition into the prestige tiers of the system feel like less of a wall.

Xal’atath’s Guile has been redesigned – Now causes keystones above level 12 to increase health and damage of enemies by 12% per level instead of 10% per level.

Their table does not include affixes, it’s just the base key level. The delta across every value in the season 1 table is 10%.

Lets take versatility as an example. Lets say you’re at 115% versatility and you go up to 130% versatility. While the bonus to your damage goes up by 100%, your damage did not improve by 100%, but rather by only 13%. Looking only at the modifier without the baseline damage will lead you to incorrect results.

Yeah this is the issue though because the redesigned Guile was supposed to replace the 10% with 12%. The “Update Ahead” is different so it looks like they scrapped the 12% idea for the 10%. You were right with the +122%. The conflicting changes got me confused.
