Wow for what is cosmetic and side content hasn’t really had this many layers in the past.
This is way beyond “RNG”, it’s RNG on top of currency on top of Time gating.
It is optional. There are different forms of ‘challenging’ in this game.
Have you done a single challenge? I also have no idea how you have so many. You must play this like a full time job killing all the rares everyday, etc.
I farm them pretty consistently (spend way too much time farming chests) and I have collected just over 200. I used a lot of them though so I have only 160 remaining.
The entire game is optional. That argument is a fallacy.

The currency farming isn’t the hard or tedious part. It’s mat farming for the equipment to equip your “vehicles” with that’s the worst.
Yeah that’s true too but I haven’t gotten to the point where I need to use those trinkets that expire each turn. But once you get to the highest difficulty I imagine you will need them and it will be extremely tedious.
I did manage to beat all of the easiest difficulty and half of the 2nd difficulty so far (haven’t tried beyond that since I got the mount I wanted from it). And I imagine I will start burning through those medallions pretty quick having to optimize my play to not make any mistakes.
Par for the course imo.

I’ve done everything up to rank 2 Path of Ascension. You can farm medals by opening the chests in citadel of loyalty, each chest can be opened daily for 2-3 medallions guaranteed.
Wait what? There are daily chests there? How come they didn’t communicate this at all?
I read a guide too and didn’t see it mentioned.
There are 4 chests there, you just need to unlock them 1 time clicking on the brazier and then clicking on the corresponding chest with the buff active. It’s better to bring a friend the first time because if you got hit you lose the brazier buff.
The vignettes are : treasure of humility, treasure of loyalty, treasure of purity and treasure of courage i think, all of them located in Citadel of loyalty.

I think I unlocked one of them already. I did it when there was a quest in the area though and people aggrod the mobs. Thanks though I’ll look into it.
Ok so I went through the entire area and only found 1 chest. Treasure of Wisdom that had one medallion. Did they nerf it?
I don’t mind the chests only having chance to drop a piece, but there doesn’t need to be a portal limit at the same time. The over-management of playtime is getting tiring.

Hearing things like this makes me so glad I’ve unsubbed. I haven’t played the game for about 2 weeks now. My sub ends in about a week.
Im off the Bliz/Ion hamster wheel and it feels good. In Shadowlands, Bliz/Ion has overly embraced the ‘hamster wheel’ concept and pushed it to far this time.
After all, it does have its breaking point psychologically for people and I think Bliz has successfully found many peoples breaking point with Shadowlands; and the customers (particularly the casuals) are choosing to jump off this time, and refusing to participate.
