Hello,
I’m new to playing a mage in arenas. I’ve really only been playing a mage for about 3 months, I really enjoy the class but I have a question. In arenas, when is the right time to poly? I feel like in a lot of ways, I have to put myself out in the open away from a pillar or even my group to land a poly.
Any of you folks playing mage have any thoughts on that? Some people say Poly for an opener, some people say wait for poly until you see an opening. Can you give me any thoughts or tips? Thank you.
On topic: I think the opening poly is only really worth it if it’s a poly where someone was grievously out of position. But definitely be careful about putting yourself in a bad position to land it.
Thanks for the tip, that’s something that I’m learning. It doesn’t make sense to break a good position to CC a healer if it puts you wide open for getting killed. I’ve tried to force the poly opener but it’s just not working. I’m kind of going back to the drawing board, including for some of my key bindings
