See the backward-facing spike on the blade? That’s a hook. You grab your opponent’s weapon, shield, or limb, and then trip them, throw them, or - especially nasty option if you’re mounted - drag them behind you.

Polearms give you plenty of options against armored foes. Especially ones who are busy trying to deal with a giant wolf.

However, her range is reduced due to her being so high on the wolf while he is so low to the ground. Getting into range to use said hook while mounted pulls her and her wolf within his swing arc.

Judging by the way the Orc is holding her wpn she just doesn’t look ready to attack and you could almost say the DI Dwarf’s shield would disarm her given the way she is holding it charging it him on a mount. For that reason alone id say DI Dwarf.

Don’t matter really if hunter pet. most mounts are trained to fight by their master side. Give the height, ranged of weapon and other factors. the orc win most of time. If doing in game it about even.

yes he has a shield. I watch enough real fights where a shield is a hindrance. due to fact of weapon choice. why think the Spartan were so feared. they had a shield and a long weapon. The dwarf using a shield and short weapon. The longer reach going get passed shield in real fight.

yeah I am bad i go to renaissance fairs. the ones I go to have real battles. someone was always getting hurt. it reason why people had to sign a wavier to enter.

great wall paper. I hate to be that guy. But dwarf functionally holding hammer wrong. If he holding near the top part. he not going to be doing a lot of damage. normally you hold it near the bottom. about 8 inches up for maxim hitting power. normal hammer about a inch or half.
