You still have the ability to alt tab and buy yourself new monitors and still multibox?
They will only allow you to refund one copy of Shadowlands - and the game time is lost in the process.
Someone up above has already been refuneded 5 SLs so theres that.
Yeah have fun with that. The average monitor uses around $11 per month of electricity with âmildâ use. Your average monitor uses 0.211KwH - if we lowball it at around 12 cents per Kw, if you want to run more than 5 accounts as a multiboxerâŚheh. $55 increase a month in your electric bill, or $100, or for 20 accounts? I mean how far are you willing to go?
Monitors do not use 200 watts of power. Itâs more like 30 watts and thatâs just for a high end gaming monitor, normal ones are like 15. Thatâs one dollar thirty cents at 12 hours of use at 12 cents per thousand watt hours over 30 days.
You do understand that there are hardware solutions that allow you to use a single monitor/keyboard and mouse for several different computers right? They are called KVM switches.
Finally!!! Faith restored!!! THANK YOU
I mean you clearly donât understand what virtual machines and hyper visors are, Iâll let you take 5 minutes to go google what both are.
Replying to myself to state this⌠We look at other MMOs that do not allow multi-boxing and their economies are so much more stable and make sense. This (appears) to be a push not towards just a econ control but the possibility of just one huge shard like TESO, or ability to cross realm shop like FFXIV for the best deals.
In the short term those who have invested a large amount of money are really hurting and itâs sad to have so much time and money invested into multiple accounts, long term the econ for the playerbase as a whole should improve GREATLY.
Except this change does not accomplish this at all. Youâre still allowed to have teams flying around gathering the same node as long as you arenât using input broadcasting.
you can adjust window size playing in windowed mode?
Input broadcasting using software, Hardware is fine
Yes. Itâs quite annoying when you do it unintentionally.
This is true. You can create macros that /follow, and select target of target, but idk if itâs possible to select a node and mine it, each box still has to click the node. You would also have to have a macro setup to be pressed one at a time per window if you lose them, or click each node on each window. Itâs possible, but broadcasting software is a step in the right direction.
When leveling was pretty bad I had a 110 walking around with my lower level toon I would switch too and essentially do this exact thing but to kill mobs hella fast. Youâre right, but at the same time, it slows the process down a lot.
If anyone knows a good resource, I would love to learn how to use Virtual Machine and KVM specifically to multi-box.
Anyone who makes a tutorial for WoW players would be a hero in my eyes.
I recently got into mutliboxing on Classic. 5 accounts, all paid for with real money. After leveling two 60s on my main it got boring, even being in a top 10 raiding guild and raiding 5 nights a week. Boxing brought new life into it for me and new challenges. Only got them to 44 and it was nice being able to work on dungeons alone or assist guildies with quests or group with randoms. Only one was a gatherer and would step aside for others to quest an area. I hate PvP, so never did it (Iâm on a PvE server).
Tis a sad day for sure for those who were the friendly boxers. Sadly, this will have zero impact on bots.
Virtual machines must be used with a hypervisor itâs how they work, The hypervisor translates all the virtual machines and acts like a hardware layer for everything, Essentially it works like a driver so the Virtual machines can access CPU + GPU + storage etc, Depending on your config you may need a few peices of extra kit but anyone running large scale boxing already did this anyway.
Youâll also need a KVM switch, You will interact directly with the switch (Which is hardware) And that interacts with each virtual machine wich contains itâs own FULLY FLEDGED operating system, And COPY of world of warcraft.
the annoying part will be logging into all at the same time but that was inherent to multiboxing anyway.
I would just like to point out my appreciation for the monumental effort @Wildsinger has put in to tell everyone how multiboxing will still happen with the software change. Theyâve been here, fighting for rights for the noble breed known as multiboxers.
Youâre assuming that the problem was multi-boxers and not bots. Iâve seen probably 10 bots for every multi-boxer I see, so unless the bots are dealt with, nothing will likely change. I could be wrong, but weâll see what happens.
Its still NOT againts the TOS, a broadcasting mirroring is⌠We will figure it out soon, untill then you can enjoy your 1k anchor weedâŚ
